I think on the release to Yeadon Councillors it said November 7thhas this change of hours and night restrictions been submitted to the council or is it going in shortly?
It'll be on the Leeds.Gov website. There's also a list of ward councillors (NB there are 3 for each ward). Their email addresses are normally their name followed by @Leeds.Gov.uk as I recall.Does anyone have a contact email address within the LCC Planning department please?
Further to the recent post regarding the airports planned submission to LCC to vary the night flying rules, by switching from an annual movement limit to an average noise exposure limit (together with a noise insulation scheme and the alteration of night flying hours to 2330-0600), I have written to LBA to seek approval for the Support Group to publicise these proposals in advance of the submission being made. This has been given this morning. LBA welcome our support.
I have also confirmed that LBA would encourage supporters who live in Leeds and surrounding areas to write to their local councillors to express support for the airport and its proposals. It might also be useful to let councillors know that G***A do NOT speak for the majority of the people and do NOT speak for us.

I think it would be good if everyone who writes in could let us know on here. Could we set up a new thread so we can easily see? We could also use this to see which councillors have received letters and let the airport know the level of support we have provided.Further to the recent post regarding the airports planned submission to LCC to vary the night flying rules, by switching from an annual movement limit to an average noise exposure limit (together with a noise insulation scheme and the alteration of night flying hours to 2330-0600), I have written to LBA to seek approval for the Support Group to publicise these proposals in advance of the submission being made. I've said already the airport needs to do what you did previously. It's something that can't be contested if thousands of passengers were to sign a predefined letter.It goes without saying, that if possible, get your family, friends and supportive neighbours to also email their 3 Councillors (and Planning) in support of this. It feels very much like one of those 'make or break' moments.
I have now emailed my 3 local councillors and Leeds Planning.
The thing is, that was a full blown planning application, with full consultation and the potential for a public inquiry. This is simply an amendment to an existing planning approval. There is no requirement to seek public opinion and so probably no portal for the public to comment within the planning website. So at present, all we can do is try to influence councillors directly. Those on the plans panel and those who are not.I've said already the airport needs to do what you did previously. Most people on the street probably don't care one way or another unless they can't get a flight to where they want. If I'm honest I don't think there is enough people with the enthusiasm we share to do it.
Leeds and Bradford Airport... Christ.Just received the following response from LCC;
The Local Planning Authority has not received a new application for Leeds and Bradford Airport. When we receive an application, we will advertise the application, so you will be able to submit your comments at that point.
Kind regards
I've not had that, but even if I do its easy enough to send the email again. I'll send one every day if necessary. Seems somewhat pedantic as it's their own councillors who have spilled the beans that this is coming. Its easy enough to file comments on line pending the application. Easier though to disregard them snd hope people don't bother to reissue them after the application is made.Just received the following response from LCC;

Wouldn't it be better if the airport notified you that it had done so and you then notified everyone else to fire off their emails, or am I thinking too far outside the box for my own good?I've not had that, but even if I do its easy enough to send the email again. So it would seem that for now we just email Councillors and then the Planning Department in November, after the airport make the application, and once the Council make that fact known. This should be after the 7th November.
Possibly but perhaps it doesnt matter as far as writing to councillors is concerned. After all, it was councillors that first made this public a full month before LBA intend to submit the application. It seems to be just the planning department that don't want to accept emails about this until its actually submitted. That is supposed to happen on 7 November, but the planning team say they will publicise it themselves, at which point they'll accept emails of support.Wouldn't it be better if the airport notified you that it had done so and you then notified everyone else to fire off their emails, or am I thinking too far outside the box for my own good?
