Unless the airport was visibly failing - and there's certainly no sign or signal of this being the case - then it's pretty unlikely that you'd buy a business and immediately throw out the CEO. If this is like most other sales of businesses, the key senior management team will have some form of lock-in to incentivise and keep them in post for a couple of years at least. After that, who knows - particularly if they have earned a decent chunk of share-related pay when the transaction happened, which could change your long-term view of work/life balance.

Personally I've been impressed with what AENA have done at Luton - it's a decent airport to fly from. Unlike the hell-hole which is Stansted.
STN has just been approved to expand further, whilst LBA are arguing over AC la ding between 2300-0700. Absolute joke of a council. Stalling growth and development of a whole city making it literally impossible to do anything.

Given Vince Hodder's considerable achievements at Leeds Bradford, it's not inconceivable that he is one reason for AENA's purchase. A condition of sale, so to speak.
I am sure that its a case of 'if it ain't broke, don't fix it' regarding VH. LBA has just about finished recruiting a very strong and experienced executive team, all of whom have been around a bit and have years of experience including previous working relationships with major airlines that operate at LBA. I doubt very much that this news has come out of the blue and suspect some appointments were made whilst knowing that this was going to happen. I can't think of a better scenario than a very strong executive, European giant airport operator ,with Infrabridge still very much there, and a rapidly improving terminal.

Now, we just need AENA to give Leeds City Planning a good talking to.

And doing the same now with Elland Road having postponed the planning approval meeting for a second month running due to concerns over traffic management. That, no doubt, translates into the council trying to get LUFC to fund major road infrastructure schemes instead of them.

It seems with major planning applications LCC are always looking for reason’s why they shouldn’t be approved rather than why they should and place far too much emphasis on listening to vociferous minority groups who in no way represent the majority.

I rather think that actually its more to do with tagging on numerous S106 conditions forcing the applicant to pay out even more doing jobs the council can't afford. Even more so now they're strapped for cash. They've already said they support the Elland Road develooment in principle, and they will pocket money from the sale of adjoining council owned land to LUFC.

In my view S106 is tantamount to planning blackmail. I have little doubt they'll do the same with LBA as indeed they have previously.

No surprise with this Tram announcement
Totally the wrong routes selected for it, already 2 rail lines between Leeds and Bradford
Could easy build a new station at Worley stanningley, Laisterdyje on the Leeds interchange line
Reopen Armley canal Road alo on the other line
A failed Actress, A failed Mayor we have no hope and Bob Hope

We have GALBA, Leeds City Council, and negative MPs to deal with….I don't see how we can expand any more than we are doing now.
LBA can expand significantly by utilisation of the airport during the daytime. More non based aircraft operating between 0700 and 2300. We still have long quiet periods when the airport is under utilised. There's a huge amount of expansion potential once the terminal is completed.

Obviously, we want more based aircraft and that's a problem until the mess is sorted regarding night flights unless airlines confine themselves to daytime or operate QC0.25 aircraft.

Not strictly LBA related, but just seen an item on line stating that worldwide, 835 aircraft are now grounded, awaiting P&W engine inspections, generally A320/A321NEO, E195-2 and A220.

This should never have happened but according to the article, the numbers of grounded aircraft are increasing.

Interesting conversion with a member of the Easy jet cabin crew. They hate it when LBA is on their roster. Always an issue and never depart on time! Currently delayed due to issues with passenger lists at check-in so didn't start checking in till 730
Now a passenger has seats on row 30 but no row 30 on aircraft

'They' plural or 'they' singular, that one person? I'm guessing it is the view of just one person. So I wouldn't attach much weight to it. Who doesn't have the odd gripe about their job?

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
