Use this prefix for new threads for Birmingham Airport
Hi there all, what is stopping bhx from increasing it's passenger numbers more or higher, routes not there, too higher fares, airlines not choosing to fly from there as no incentive or not attractive enough or doesn't even fit in with their business model.

Of even distance from rival airports to close. Or has the airport made itself become unattractive for business.

I think numbers are increasing as much as can be expected? Our biggest operators (easyJet, Ryanair, Jet2) will have more destinations than ever this summer.

As for American travel, it was already declining before this latest Trump term and all the new travel restrictions. Other airports are suffering from this. I think we should reserve judgement on this one and wait and see whether the next US government makes its rules less strict.

We should just hope that the Middle Eastern situation doesn’t get any worse. It’s remarkable that we haven’t lost anything major this year given the turmoil some airlines (and indeed countries) have been experiencing. Air India will be using bigger aircraft. Saudi are going back up to 4 weekly. Istanbul will have more flights than ever before. Qatar, are drastically cutting flights on many other routes, but are keeping BHX at a daily frequency.

Yes I agree jfy1999, but the amount of unserved routes that Birmingham airport needs to further expand is not happening.

If appropriate for the thread

I attended the jobs fair at bhx.Met some pretty decent people especially the ones from Birmingham airport ltd especially Sean who was probably one of the best advisors out there.Spoke to me what they do in terms of terminal operations and direct people in the direction of terminals ,Check in desks help people with pets and spoke to me about other stuff regards to the airport especially routes. He mentioned bhx is expanding to 14 million within the next 12 months which is the projected target for the airport. We also spoke about based Aircraft increases ,Air India,Saudia,Ryanair easyjet,2027 prospects.
I honestly enjoyed it

One of the top notes that he mentioned was PIA is that they keep requesting to come to bhx and the airport keep rejecting or PIA keep rejecting bhx. This is due either 2 things yields for pia or capacity at bhx

Onwards and Upwards id say

Did you get an offer of a job and why would PIA reject their own proposal? In my view, BHX probably recognise that the airline and the reputation that proceeds it, is not worth considering.

I very much doubt that BHX is rejecting PIA, given they are back at LHR and MAN. PIA have made clear that they wish to restart the route but they do not have enough aircraft available at the moment. There had been rumours, firstly about Air Blue and then Air Sial starting UK routes, but nothing has come of either.

PIA are not back at LHR

Very quiet on the rumours page

Air Algerie have requested 2 weekly flights at Manchester per Spd travels on X

Egypt air rumours have zipped up since it got reported last year

Anything to report?

It would be interesting to get to the bottom of the issue of pax rights. My reading of the bilateral agreement suggests that it does not appear to restrict UK departure points. But I am happy to be contradicted.

Richard Parker and Andrew Pelham visited India to increase connectivity between Birmingham and India

Heads Up!

For some weird reason, my days off work tend to involve being out of my flat by 5am and not getting back until 10pm. Back to work and the regular "fix" of 7.40am to 7.15pm hours
Heatwave Mk2 next week?
Some explosive weather build-ups currently in the North of England. What is it like where you are?

I don't believe I am quite covering enough roles at work. Its now 4 on a bad day, 5 on a good day and there is scope for a 6th and 7th role. Still on minimum pay but had the biggest payrise in the company,
