Agree with HP.EasyJet will get better efficiency over the years.Weve got 32 routes 2/3 A320Neos with potentially medium haul routes on the cards.What will be interesting is easyJet’s plan for winter.Would they be willing to re enter the Salzburg market?
Follow other existing easyJet’s base markets approach to routes in previous winters?
Go to routes where other airlines serve but there also decreasing frequency like Zurich or Munich maybe go for competition with Ryanair for Copenhagen?

Hi there all, wasn't quite as aware that Gatwick Airport has 70 plus scheduled yearly fights with Easyjet, compared too 32 plus scheduled flights from Birmingham airport, that amount, puts Birmingham airport in a small corner, with no comparison, also leaves Birmingham airport way behind in catch-up. But how long have Easyjet been using scheduled flights from Gatwick Airport for.

You cannot compare BHX to LGW as easyjet have had as many as 80 aircraft based at LGW

Brussels is no more direct.Axed last year
Kavala Jet2 starts May 2027
Lyon was axed in 2023 by easyjet

No surprise.Numbers are awful at summer.

Better getting XLR on the route or even making Turkish or Pegasus increase.

I dont agree loads are generllay very good !

LHR is only 3 per day at the moment rather then 7 !

But you would need 70+ more based aircraft to do it. There is a pattern to the routes served as the base size increases. That will give you a clue as to what routes could come next.

Not necessarily.We have 6 based serving 40+ routes so would need 12 based aircraft

This week EasyJet have operated 31departures using 16 different aircraft on Monday and 21 departures with 14 aircraft on Tuesday with todays figures looking like 21 out operated by 15 aircraft. I don't know but would think aircraft operating out of Gatwick probably do away based flights at some the destinations just as say BHX-AMS is by a Amsterdam based aircraft, therefore gulftravller is probably correct in his analogy.

To be honest comparing BHX with Gatwick is pointless bordering on fantasy as realistically we can hope for a 10-12 base built up over the next 5 years and eventually end up somewhere between MAN and BRS over the longer term.

What's to say that in the future we also increase our range of destinations. We need a resolved situation in the Middle East first.
Gatwick is EasyJets main base, so will always offer more routes. It also has the advantage of the London 'tag' to help it draw customers.

Hi there Rollo, unfortunately I have to disagree on your pointless View, in comparison between Birmingham and Gatwick. The realistic view I see is that Birmingham Airport management over the last 20 or 30 haven't taken the realistic future vision to where there airport should be, sitting on the fence, not taking any opportunity at all when available, like extending the runaway to where it is is now. The ex managing director Mr Paul Tilsley, who sits on the board of directors, he did nothing, that's for start off, plus also Birmingham City Council haven't done anything too. These are the past people and organizations that need to be asked about what there part was in Birmingham airport future growth I would say nothing. Unfortunately one of the airports previous bosses, Mr Heard, now he had the vision, but sadly his life was cut short due a freak accident, on his way to work, a tree hit his car and killed him. Very sad, I met him once, great guy to talk too, his future vision was lost, when he was killed, great man. Yet why pay someone 500,000, to lead any airport that is been beaten by smaller ones

Could you extrapolate as to which pattern you're referring to? Were you thinking more holiday destinations than cities or a good mix of both. I'd be interested to hear your thoughts on the matter.

Turkish routes
Italy towns

However I think bhx needs to sensibly sensible where they aim to boost network with easyJet.

Why are you comparing BHX to LGW ?

LGW is Easyjets main base with 80 aircraft !

Easyjet are doing well from BHX and well done to BHX Management for securing the base after many year of negotaitions.

So to keep blaming BHX Management is totally unjustified.
