I am, as usual, having a bit of a battle with some of the people who are on the various LBA groups yet object to this application. One guy just objected because the existing aircraft are too noisy and he wants them updating, and he objects to the noise from Multiflight - presumsbly engine tests - which are banned anyway overnight. Has he even bothered to read the submission? Probably not. However, if anyone feels like chipping in with some support it would be welcome. At times it feels like it's me v the rest in the comments section.

I am constantly doing this (under another name), but if you could let us know which groups we can then chip in.

I’m not a member either on that group for a reason which I won’t disclose on here. So I can’t help.

I totally agree If would be helpful if anyone on here who is a member on that LBA Spotters group on Facebook can copy or share the posts that I’ve put onto the support group Facebook page.

Its essential that they are involved. If just 1% of their members declared their support that would be 471 letters in favour.

The groups I am on are LBA Aviation Community, run by Jamie (ATC), LBA International Airport Spotters and the LBA Spotters/Air Yorkshire, plus Blue Sky Aviation.

I have been told just now I am strange because I put the airport before the objection of local residents. The usual assumption from him that all local residents object and that those who do should call the shots. Makes my blood boil.

A comment made by a certain opposing representative suggested that the airport intends to reallocate slots from the 06:00 to 07:00 period into the night quota. This statement implicitly acknowledges that a substantial number of designated night slots are presently utilised during daytime hours.🤣

Voicing opposition on FB is not the same as formally opposing on the planning portal. Even if he does write an objection, I guess it will be ignored as it's hardly a sensible viewpoint. Just because there are more comments in favour or against doesn't really mean anything. I bet lots of comments will be discarded on either side if it is not relevant to the application.

I have to admit that the problem with posting on the LBA groups on FB is they are full of people who actually seem to be there only to come out from under their bridge and start trolling, making stupid, incorrect claims which they have absolutely zero evidence to justify. I seem to be spending far too much time countering them or explaining what they apparently, couldn't be bothered reading. If they are so 'anti aitport' and ill informed, why are they even there? They are there precisely to sow misinformation whenever anything like this comes up.

Going forward I think I am going to have just leave them to it. I am getting past all this nonsense. Bring back the days without a social media infested with idiotic keyboard numptys.

There's a good chance a lot of these dipsticks don't even live anywhere near LBA Heather, probably the far end of Outer Mongolia! Either that or the far end of a fart!! (Hope that's allowed 🙂) )

Have given my support. Surprised with the application for the 300m extension to the runway which would be great. When was this first announced? How realistic is this happening? I believe rather than saying its fine as it is with some tweaks, we should be going for major infrastructure to help the airport grow not just in the short term, but medium and long.

I don’t know if anyone else has noticed but those who shall not be named Facebook page has attracted a large number of comments against them and their agenda on the latest post, but they have very cleverly “hidden” the comments which don’t show support to their pathetic cause.
