I wouldn't have thought it would be a problem, I'm sure that I've seen people with dogs there in the past.

It's unfair that you have to wait such a long time, adding to the stress levels. I will keep my fingers crossed for a positive outcome.

When you finally get the good news maybe a meet up at the top of the car park could be arranged. I'm sure there are many that would love to meet Peggy :)

Peggy would be delighted to meet with any human, she likes to play bite upon the wrist, no aggressive intent but a simple hello. Honestly, no risk of injury.

I would consider a general meeting upon the facility that is considered favourable to all parties.

Hmmmm, This is something interesting and may energize my Camera assets, ...my brain is likely to be energized!

I need further thought and the decision of DWP.

I am sympathetic and fully understand,

Well a meeting on the top floor of the MSCP at the Cargo Centre would be a fantastic idea. It would be great to put a face to some of the other members of this community. I would be able to make any lunch time (weekdays) with enough notice to ensure my desk is covered. If I cant make it for any reason I would be able to stand in my office in Forward House and wave at you all! Hope we can try and sort something out before NCP close off the top floor(s) of the car park before Winter sets in. Also be advised that Virgin Media are using quite a bit of the lower levels for parking (using a shuttle bus back to the office at the Golf Course) so parking may be at a premium.

Also just as an aside the car park at the front of the MSCP now has signs on there stating staff parking only. There have been a number of occasions where people have just parked up and left their cars there thus blocking up spaces while staff are away on lunch etc. Rumour is that a chain may be installed across the car park to stop this happening.

While I think about it there is also a rumour that the MSCP MAY (and I emphasize MAY) change from pay on arrival to having pass cards issued to the staff / regular users who have passes who use it without any public use. This is a rumour only but if it comes in will affect any spotters using the top floor. The Police would have no hesitation to move you on if you have no reason to be there (no car means no reason). I know in the past there was a scheme were spotters could be issued with an ID card (I think Gordon was behind this but I am not 100% sure). Does anyone else know about this at all?

Brings back many happy memories.

First went up and back on the Snowdon Railway in the mid 1960s. In the 70s and early 80s we took several holidays in North Wales when our kids were growing up and trips up the line to the top of the mountain featured. Once we all walked back down - now that sorted out the calf muscles. I have some cine film of these trips - now on video but it's all analogue.

Many thanks for posting this, wolfheze.

Weather was great until around 200 metres from the summit when we were enveloped in fog. Bloody chilly up at the top!

I walked up Snowdon a couple of years ago.

It was a hot June day down at Llanberis but it didn't half get cold towards the top. I can remember my clothing feeling like ice when I stood up after a quick rest stop.

If I recall correctly from my courier days, I used to take my driver's rest periods at any of the RAF/USAF stations near to my route.

Waddington, Scampton, Leeming, LOSSIEMOUTH, Brize Norton, Valley, Marham, Coningsby, Mildenhall and Lakenheath were regular stops whilst Upper Heyford was my favorite as one could freely drive through the site on a public road. The entertainment was awesome and free.

I was more restricted at civilian airports as I needed clearance to enter airside in order to offload my somewhat sensitive cargo

When USAF bases are mentioned i quite often think of this. ....
Lousy singing but an enjoyable yarn nevertheless.

Coming on nicely, the more offices and hotels that are built next to BHX the better. Great Pic thanks to perpetualBrum on SSC (y)

Has anyone been watching 'The Skies above Britain' (or more accurately 'The Skies above London'). Watching the latest episode and viewing the credits, I was initially surprised, but on second thoughts not, to read -

'Archive - Flugsnug'

Great to see that His/Her skills with the video camera are getting good BBC airtime.

Does anyone read 'Airliner World'? In the current issue (October 2016), there is an article on Air India. On page 91, is a photo an Air India Boeing 707 taxiing, with a building in construction in the background. It looks suspiciously like the current BHX terminal. What little of the runway and taxiway layout visible, would also fit for BHX.
I'm just wondering if anyone could confirm this? the timeline would certainly fit.

Regards.

Latest addition to the collection. VC10s have now become the most numerous type. The cabinet is starting to look a little small now!

I love VC-10's! They were also extremely popular with passengers, with the rear mounted engines allowing for a very quiet cabin.
As for the crowded cabinet, you know the saying - build it and they will come. You could possibly angle the aircraft at 45 degrees, which would allow you at least one more aircraft per shelf. Otherwise, once you fill the top shelf, you'll need to come up with a new 'masterplan'.

Regards.

Just looked on the Birmingham Post and there is funding for a 37-storey tower apparently confirmed for the Tramps nightclub site on Broad Street.

This is near the 22-storey Left Bank tower which has just started construction so the skyline in this part of the City will be going through a bit of a renaissance. Can't forget everything being built at Arena Central too.

I hope multiple 20+ storey towers will be planned in the area around Curzon Street HS2 station!

All checked in for my flight to Sydney from Manchester via Heathrow. Been waiting for this trip for nearly a year and now tomorrow I'll finally head to Australia and New Zealand!
If anyone would like to share their local airport news right here in our news area let me know so I can give you the correct permissions to do so. It only takes a couple of minutes to upload a news story with an accompanying image. survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
