Ah right so they live in mancs where their 30million pax per year polluting airport is with 1billion expansion under way! :finger:
Perhaps they are secretly working for MAN so the upstart airport over the Pennines doesn't get too big for its boots.
I don't recall seeing or hearing mass protests from them about MAN's expansion plans!

Well they did have big protests getting nationwide attention led by the likes of the BBC, Gaurdian and the rest of the right on crowd when they were building the second runway incudng some burke called swampy who thought digging and living in a tunnel would solve the problem.

Wonder if he ever got a proper job, somehow I doubt it.

I appreciate the LBA Project is environmentally friendly so different but it doesn't stop the fruitcakes

Some of the Leeds Uni bunch live in Manchester so I imagine they must commute in their gas guzzling 4x4s to Leeds where they preach their global warming gospel.
And that makes you wonder what their real agenda is. I mean, do they kick up a stink about Manchester Airport, which is vast compared to LBA, is in the middle of massive expansion, and probably emits more Co2 in a day than LBA does in a month?

Some lovely walk ways all around the second runway at MAN, the tunnel where the river bollin flows under the runway is very impressive. one min its really quiet and you can hear all the nature then next min you get the raw of an aircraft passing by! lots of good view point as well.

I have been sent the attached link today by Charles Johnson (LBA) who asked if I could post it on here for people to see. It relates to the future production of green aviation fuel.

Good news for aviation. Terrible news for GALBA. They should be delighted about this prospect, IF they are genuinely interested in the environment. But they won't be delighted at all, because they are only interested in themselves.

The Yorkshire Post has today published a letter from Airport's CEO Hywel Rees which is in reply to the above article that @White Heather posted on here last week.

Not sure if these internal pictures of the New £150 Million Terminal Development have been posted on here before, But here you go taken from the routes online website.

The only one we hadn't seen fully was the last one which in my opinion is the most impressive of them all so far as you get a real feel for the scale of the plans.

The latest I heard was sometime in September but due to several public consultation extensions, could well be later than September.
More public consultations, seriously? We've had the consultations, that's ridiculous if true.

What sometimes holds things up is the time needed by the local authority's professional planning officers to fully investigate an application in order to present detailed recommendations to the lay planning committee that will make the decision.

At BRS it took 14 months from the time the planning application was lodged with the local authority until the planning committee met to determine it. The planning officers' report was 235 pages long.

I hadn't noticed before, but the escalators in the first picture seem to go into the roof!
I have a fear of heights (apart from been on a plane) so had noticed them escalators myself, they go real high up! It genuinely is a really good terminal that will put LBA ahead of most other airports here and in europe, LCC need to also use this new terminal to their advantage to promote the city with their eco designed terminal that's better than the rest.

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
