Been looking on an article on wharfedale observer. I’m not sure if anyone has an account but if someone does you should respond to this person called “Barry whitepeas” he’s written an essay about the airport. Talking complete crap. And the article as a whole is talking about all environmental groups to come together to stop all airport “expeansion”. (Couldn’t be bothered reading it all either but like to look at comments as there’s usually people there that stick up for the airport and put those against in their place)

Jeez all this fuss just so our local airport can have a better future and better for the environment, I really do wonder about some people( who are against) but there you have it…
He’s just a nimby.

Totally clueless when it comes to aviation usually spouting absolute BS when challenged.

I find the biggest joke going is how they would supposedly replace the thousands directly and indirectly employed within the industry once decimated by their agendas.

The answers are loosely based on how we could pioneer some fantasy green based jobs revolution in this region...

Per annum;
Flight Deck £65k - 100k
ATC £50k - 80k
Engineering £40 - £80k

Just a snap shot of a few roles that I’m sure this fictional eco revolution would cover...

Let's say that you need 10 F/O (£70k a year) and 10 Captains (£100k a year) for every airframe based at Leeds.

14 Jet2 Airframes -
140 F/O - £9,8000,000
140 Captains - £14,000,000

3 Ryanair Airframes -
30 F/O - £2,100,000
30 Captains - £3,000,000

Total income lost - Nearly £30 million wiped from the economy of Leeds/Yorkshire. The tax that generates for HMRC and the ultimate spending power gives the government would be lost. They'd be then winging when the NHS is sold off as the government wont be able to afford the bill.

These idiots really need to get a grip. I'm not denying we need to be a protective of our environment and all do our bit. Become a little more sustainable but the whole "lets have a green revolution" is just communism at it's very heart.

Plane watcher....I'd suggest you ignore...this just provides more oxygen. Entering into public scraps achieves nothing. Have you thought about contacting the airport marketing team to ask them to reply officially? There's a reason why they don't respond to this sort of stuff.

I do ignore them…(I’ve blocked GALBA and their associates on Twitter as I don’t want to see their rubbish) but I know or believe that people normally go on there to support and defend the plans. No need to ask the airport marketing team to reply to them as the boss already has done in the past.

I think if you ask marketing they will want to lead on this...its a sensitive time for a variety of reasons. Let's not mess it up for LBA by whipping up angst ....who is the marketing boss by the way and when did he reply? I've not seen anything.

The dilusional morons are at it again.

Just read this myself. Where on earth did all these “protesters” come from. I suggest this is not all anti LBA “per se” but a conference put together nationally from students with Climate Control views focussed purely against aviation backed by Scientific experts. How come the media never fact check their background, factual accuracy and context of these issues within the greater picture on climate change. We are aware and support climate change I am sure but put the facts in context locally regionally, nationally and globally. Hit the Chinese and other Asian governments who don’t give a hoot and are the greatest climate criminals.
AS A general question to our group(s) do we need to comment as a forum on this outrage in the YEP. ?

Same old YEP I see, never bloody change do they.

I'ld love to see a full breakdown of that petition by GALBA and really do hope Robert Jenrick and his team dismiss this petition as I suspect it will disproportionately miss represents the facts.
.
For a starter just how many of those 59,000 signatory actually live within a 10 mile radius of Leeds/Bradford Airport?

I'm at the stage where we now need a decision, one way or the other, by Jenrick. The scheme is just treading water at the moment. Should the new terminal scheme be subsequently blocked, LBA can at least potentially commence works on extending the current facility, assuming this is AMPs intentions which I sincerely hope is the case.

I would like to know actually how many of those “signatures” came from the Leeds/Bradford areas. I don’t believe they all did. Like LBA Spotter said.

The only decent person at YP is Mark Casci apart from that it’s just a crap news place, along with most news company’s! That spout the usual nonsense!

I agree with @Wardair166 hopefully RJ will ignore these idiots and relise that it’s complete crap they come out with.

I see someone has done a study which our useless ****er of an MP has retweeted. Apparently the carbon footprint will be higher then previously thought on all 4 expansion projects at airports and all must be stopped due to this.

What they don't realise, and their narrow minded bigotedness doesn't draw into, is that if you don't expand you simply push more people into the cars and give them further to travel therefore pushing out more carbon emissions. Whilst a new terminal with a railway link could provide an attractive proposition for someone, for example, who lives in Pannal and is going on holiday on an afternoon flight. Rather than drive, you get the train to the station and a taxi back.

Green communism is well and truly now been pushed onto us and I've realised what a far left MP we have. Amazing that, as you all know, I'm champion the conservative MP Steve Barker who is highlight that Zero Carbon is very dangerous for everyone involved.

The problem with this suggestion is that these groups not only don't want any airports expanded, they want there to be less flights altogether at all airports. Therefore to them the argument of if airport A doesn't expand then passengers will just drive to airport B doesn't stack up as they want flights at both airports to be reduced.

They want more than that. They want zero carbon, they want us all back on horse & carriage and many other 1500's things. All whilst arguing about this on their iPhone 12 eating their imported Avocados and any other hippy crap. Gen Z are going to be much worse; especially if they get involved in this Green Communism.

I get we need to be more sustainable, I get we need to improve our carbon footprint, but this is extreme socialism bordering communism at it's best.

Hi, I was born and lived in B36 for a long time - Lindale Avenue, just around the corner from Hodge Hill Comp.
I just noticed your postcode on a post.

Do you still live in the area?

49 trips undertaken last year. First done this year which was to North Wales where surprisingly the only slippery surfaces were in Conwy with the castle and it's walls closed due to the ice.
