Whilst that is true @Offint the purpose of airport masterplans as laid out by a previous government white paper was to ensure airport neighbours were kept informed of airport plans. It is therefore totally acceptable to not implement a published plan but it isn't acceptable to implement a plan you haven't informed the public on.

I hope it's not the same mob as those building Berlin Brandenberg!!! We would never see it built in that case.

I have previously explained on here that this has always been intended as a period of 'pause' in the project, with ground works undertaken, but whilst the design team complete the design of M&E aspects so that final stage costs can be put to the airport, hopefully agreed, and then a contractor instructed to commence work. Actual construction is not due to commence until later in the year - but I will try to get an update today at the Consultative Committee Meeting.

Have to say left mid May and just returned.
All the work in the short term car park happening in March and April seemed complete and nothing going on in the terminal, so no issues at all.
Note that a charge of £1 for a trolley again in place, this is something I had written to the airport to restore, as on our last few visits unable to get a trolley, now no issues thankfully.

Had a quick chat with a construction worker at LBA this afternoon. He said the extension has been put on hold for 12 months whilst plans for a larger extensive are drawn up. Anybody else head this?

It never fails to frustrate me how hopeless Leeds Bradford Airport is when it comes to improvements, projects, buildings and so on. Newcastle, Edinburgh, Bristol, Manchester et al all seem to have the ability to get on with the job. Not so round here - everything takes months, if not years, to get started.

All checked in for my flight to Sydney from Manchester via Heathrow. Been waiting for this trip for nearly a year and now tomorrow I'll finally head to Australia and New Zealand!
If anyone would like to share their local airport news right here in our news area let me know so I can give you the correct permissions to do so. It only takes a couple of minutes to upload a news story with an accompanying image. The news items can then be shared on the site homepage by you. #TakePart #Forums4airports Bring the news to one place!
survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
