I notice a couple of comments have been left on the Wharfedale article in support of the planning application and lots of 'likes' have been left. Hard to tell who left the comments or likes but at least it gets the point across.

GALBA is not what it seems as the acronym is encrypted. To decrypt the cipher you need the decryption table which I’ve managed to get my hands on, reproduced below:
L=M, A(after the 2nd letter in the alphabet)=Y, G=N, A(after 7th letter in the alphabet)=I, B=B.
Keep it to yourselves and destroy this message after reading, we wouldn’t want it to fall into the wrong hands!

I agree fight2win I just cant believe it wont be approved. I'm not even sure what a climate emergency city means...has every city in the UK become one of these?
LCC should approve this and actually use it to their advantage, instead of making it out as some environmental nightmare the council should use the plans as a tool to sell the city as an eco thinking city! state of the art eco terminal replacing the old outdated one, new parkway railway station, less car journeys to MAN,EMA. we could even have a few cycle lanes thrown in as it is leeds after all!
If LBAs plans are rejected I wont be holding back with my words when I email LCC! :rage:

With the HS2 leg to Yorkshire looking less and less likely with the news in the past 24 hours saying that the Manchester leg will get priority and the leg to Leeds will be delayed and reviewed now is the time for Leeds City Council to get its finger out for the prosperity of the Yorkshire and Humber. Our region will suffer without fast direct routes to London and what better way than a new eco friendly terminal the envy of the UK with direct flights to Heathrow. Only last night on TV there was a Party Political Broadcast on behalf of the Conservative Party with Boris championing lets get the country moving building new infrastructure creating jobs for the local economy. What better way of building new infrastructure than a carbon neutral terminal creating thousands of new jobs in the Yorkshire Region. Unfortunately Leeds City Council have different views on this, new infrastructure to them means more cycle lanes!!!

Is this a good indication that the terminal development will go ahead? I hope so. Leeds Council has just scrapped the Clean Air Zone which was going to charge certain vehicles crossing into central Leeds from the outer ring road . Are they now backtracking on these green policies due to.the state of the economy?

Without changing some of the planning panel then no. We have a couple of Labour councillors who show more resemblance to Extinction Rebellion than Labour.

There were at least 2 who said they had already made their mind up before the last meeting, 3 stand -ins of which 2 were just that and 1 other who had nothing to say. Minds already made up; shouldn’t their declaration of bias preclude them from having a vote. I can’t see them reversing their views at the next crucial meeting unless they can be persuaded to abstain if that is permissible under Council rules!

Rumour has it that Leeds will be moving into the Tier 3 Very High Risk Covid-19 category with all the detrimental economic implications that will bring. All the more reason for an opportunity like the new terminal being grasped with both hands but I’m still not hopeful with these short sighted, dogmatic Councillors running things. Same goes for our shameful Labour MP’s.

Maybe the 5 windbag MPs could set up their own wind farms - although it will likely be of insufficient substance.

It could only be LCC once again, spend 12million on road cameras for the clean air zones together with many taxi drivers having to pay out for new electric vehicles, and then go scrap the plans, utter numpties!

This seriously needs to get the go ahead and get cracking. Yeadon is taking a massive hit at the moment. Looks like the sailing centre is going to close due to council cutbacks, and Yeadon Town Hall is at serious risk of closing due to not securing additional funding. Something good needs to happen up here.

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
