Best of wishes today, it’s fantastic that whilst it seems that you are stretching your comfort zone, you have stepped forward, you can’t do any more than give it your best.
As an aside - whilst I’m aware it has to go to government (if approved), will a decision be made today or do they take it away and return a decision later (that question is aimed at anyone who knows)?
Made and announced today. I suspect the decision is already known within the panel. They will already know which will vote against and which in favour. In my view today is an exercise they have to go through because it's the legal requirement to do so. If they approve it, their defence is that they are also backed into a corner by their own Council policy to support the airport, which was re-affirmed even after declaring a climate emergency, and Government policy regarding widening the use of Regional Airports and their policy on CO2 emitted by them. The Planning Officer report sets all of this out, for anyone who cares to read it.

Thanks for the response (and from Heathrowflyer). I have read it, in amongst working, but hadn’t noticed the decision was definitely communicated today - which is good news - at least it doesn’t prolong the agony whichever way it goes.
For what it’s worth, I find it difficult to imagine it will be anything but approval. Given I am a Bradford City fan - I usually expect the worst but think the weight of evidence, arguments for and certain policies will make it difficult for the panel (despite their personal opinions) to do anything but approve. Fingers crossed!

Best of luck today LBAYORKIE, and positive thoughts for the best outcome possible. I think what we need to bare in mind is that there is nothing more us collectively as a group can do to push positive reports of this new terminal. End of the day its down to LBA, their legal team and management to pull this one out of the bag. I cant see how a 2 minute or 8 minute speech from either side would sway the opinion. if it does get rejected we can hope a best for an appeal. Would be very interesting to know if the LBA team are confident with today.

if it does get rejected I can sense alot of anger from everyone on this forum as it would be a huge blow for LBA. fingers crossed guys.

what time does the meeting start / end?

I think it starts at 1pm. It's live on Leeds City Council's You Tube Channel. So I am going out for a walk if only to protect the TV from severe impact damage, and to keep my blood pressure normal.

Perhaps the key to this is that if we all agree to always cycle to and from the airport on a newly built, very expensive cycle lane, they will approve it.
Someone needs to invent a push bike capable of transporting a family with a luggage trailer attached, and we've cracked it.
I note that the newly approved plans for the Corn Exchange include, yes you guessed it, 'safe cycling facilities'.

Don't forget though - if they reject this but approve the parkway station they'll celebrate. For what reason I don't know - the whole point of the parkway station is to improve connections to the airport. And with no new terminal it may as well be another standard railway station.

Cycle lanes all over the place @White Heather that is the aim. I'm hoping the new leader has some influence over the choice.

It was stated in a pro airport article that the Labour candidate for Mayor, Tracey Brabin, supports the terminal application, so if it's rejected and she wins the election, a second submission might be more successful. Just shows though how she is supporting it, yet five of her colleagues in Leeds and at least 1 in Bradford, oppose it. Clearly not a joined up party.
Let's hope she has no need to concern herself with it when elected, which seems likely.

As i can see from all the recent comments there is some trepidation
And plenty of BUTTERFLIES strange that seeing it’s still middle of winter!!!

She’s my local MP and from what I’ve seen of her she does seem to have her head screwed on the right way.

No idea and thanks for the support. Im more interested in reaction after i speak! I will do my best, thats all i can say.
You speak for the vast majority. Those who can take a balanced view on the necessity for aviation and the environment, unlike the opposition who don't see or accept any counter argument.
Best of luck, and thank you.

The fact that the Chief Planning Officer has recommended for approval I believe will be highly significant in the panels decision. They surely must be aware of the successful appeal threat and the consequences for them.

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
