The money they might raise can help towards cleaning all that sh*t they have thrown on the civic hall steps!!!
Breaking lockdown rules which we are all obeying, at the very least a decent fine and told to clean that blood up.
£30k would just about cover the cost of legal advice on whether they have any case. No way would it cover the cost of a judicial review.

Not to forget the graffiti on the BT/Virgin box on Henshaw if that mess is still there.

Cannot for the life of me remember the councillor who said it but he was a lawyer for 25 years and he stated pretty much if this goes to court they will loose. He also said they should be careful at what they are saying on the meeting as lawyers would very much hang up on their every word in court and he of all people should know as he is a lawyer himself. I think this is the time he was having, a sly pop, at Walsworth. The hippy who wants all air travel banned.
I believe it was Councillor Ben Cohen.

I think we need to step back and remember that the decision has been made. The terminal is approved. The only action that lot can take is to seek a Judicial review. That is a challenge against the legality of the process. Not the decision.

A judge dealing with that is not interested in our views, only whether the decision is legal or not. Doing articles in the paper, or interviews on radio will achieve nothing. The Support Group role is to assist the airport get the decision, and we have done that. It isn't our role to enter into a public spat with a bunch of lunatics. So it's not something I will be getting involved in.

If anyone wishes however, to take over the Support Group, attend future Consultative Meetings and change the direction of the group then come forward and we can discuss it.

My view is we should only act in our own name and behalf and not claim to be speaking on behalf of the support group. We dont have a mandate to do do anything else. I assume the group will make 'official' interventions as and when they see fit- press releases etc.

Basically yes. We have done our bit. If individuals wish to do other things to challenge GALBA it should be as an individual, not claiming to be doing so as the Support Group. Our role has always been to act to assist the airport when needed, which we have now done, and then take a passive role just taking part in the Consultative Committee.

Infrastructure, Construction & Developments

The discussion regarding the planning process has run it's course now. Discussions about air traffic, runways or potential new routes need to go in their respective threads.

Any specific updates regarding the new terminal or associated works can of course be posted here.

Assuming that the handful of pathetic numpties don't spanner things, just how quickly in theory can we get the diggers on the ground?

Allowing time to negotiate 'Considerations' , obtain full approval, then get sign off from the Minister, then go out to tender, whilst avoiding disruption during the peak summer period (joke), I would think the Autumn at the earliest.

Let's just hope that none of the Councillors who voted in favour in principle are 'got at' by they who shall not be named before the final full approval!

My question would be if a legal challenge is forthcoming will the airport want to start work before the outcome in known?

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
