Any word from RJ on the new terminal? After a year of them basically screwing everyone over and bankrupting the country with endless bad decisions based around covid they leave office today for their summer breaks so i doubt any decision on the terminal would be made in the near future.

Maybe have look at Local Yokels post #450 earlier today on the Bristol part of the forum under Airport master plan next 30 years, it gives a clue to the ministers way of operating for both the Bristol and Stansted enquiries.

Honestly Hopeless and useless at best!

It would be a good day for him to give his decision then hide for the recess away from the flack he will get whichever way he decides! The equivalent of firing a shot then ducking down behind the sand bags!

I’d love for him to approve and duck dive and run. However I genuinely think we’ll now be waiting till September.

They don’t break up though do they? They just don’t attend Parliament. He’s still got his job to do within the cabinet and a full team in the civil service to run?

Not aviation related as such but I feel still relevant nonetheless. Objections against proposals for a new £27 billion road building programme, on the grounds that the impact on the targets for climate change had not been considered, have been rejected by the High Court. It does seem that more and more infrastructure projects are successfully navigating the minefield that is the planning process and that the courts are getting wise to the often scurrilous appeals by the climate change groups and others such as GALBA. Let’s hope this is a good sign for LBA’s plans.

That is significant, as that is the exact argument GALBA will use when they seek a judicial review. Let's hope they conclude that in view of this outcome, they are wasting their money!

Sounds positive.

In regards to the £27 billion this could benefit the link road Bradford council were proposing to link the M62 up towards Thornbury, a quicker link to the M62 works both ways of course but I think the benefit to LBA will be greater than MAN.

IMO it’s a shame there’s no real appetite to finally extend and finish the M65 from Colne across to Leeds or possibly to the A1, this would no doubt incorporate a link to LBA in some form and could’ve really opened up LBA as a travel option to people in Burnley, Blackburn, Preston, Blackpool etc.

With today’s thing on Climate Change. Does anyone think this will have a decision on the new terminal plans?

I still hope that they might approve it at some point weather RJ needs even more time, though yes had 4 months and still no decision has been made. it’s gone all quiet on the matter.

Well it aint gonna help. But, there needs to be a policy that doesn't favour one airport or region over another, and there are airports that are continuing to grow with barely any restriction or Government interference. The recent decision at Stansted following a public inquiry support airport development on a far bigger scale than LBA.

However, today's report will only lead to even more vociferous whinging from the likes of GALBA who will pretend to be concerned about the environment rather than themselves.

GALBA and an individual jumped onto the YEP already today, albeit it was a bit subdued in comparison to earlier explosions. The articles were part of “YourFeedback” Opinion section on page 12. Sorry not worked out how to set up a link direct to it….help?

Oh of course they've jumped on it. Failing to ignore the fact that in Turkey the wild fires have been set deliberately and in Greece a couple of people have been arrested for arson. Suits their green agenda.

I hope Jenrick sticks the V's up at the b@stards and just approves. I get we need to be careful with the climate but lets be honest. The real problem isn't aviation nor is it aviation in Europe. Maybe these deluded morons should try make China, Brazil and India change.

That’s what I’ve been saying and thinking why don’t these tree bummers go to China or India. They won’t because they know places like China won’t put up with it and punish them yet we here have to put up with it.

Robert Jenrick needs to get off his lazy fat @rse and approve this terminal ASAP. I don’t know what else the airport can do to reduce emissions from what they have already done. Carbon neutral terminal lots of trees. More cycles lanes next? They will probably want a cycle lane airside next so people don’t use buses and use the “cleaner” way of getting to your aircraft.

I messaged Tracy Brabin the other day asking why she manages to get her face on tv for absolutely everything, but has failed to shout up for LBA and new terminal. I roped in her former Labour colleagues lack of support and said that it was high time she stuck her head above the parapet as WY Mayor. My email was blunt to say the least, so I was quite surprised on the lengthy email I got back. Supportive to a point, whilst being on the fence and also roping in integrated connectivity, bikes and trains etc. She reiterated the point that it is stuck with the government but also acknowledged the airport would generate £500 million to the economy by 2030. Drop her a line, if she gets enough people contacting her, she may push it up Jenrick’s agenda

Do you have an email address for her? I am sure quite a few of us would be happy to inundate her with demands for her support.

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
