It possibly says on the links, but unfortunately my eye sight couldn’t read the smallest text. Does any one know what square meterage the new extension will be. Will the addition to the existing structure give roughly the same space as what was proposed for the brand new terminal?
It's roughly 45,000 sq ft. The total area of the existing terminal after completion will be greater than the proposed new terminal which was designed to be more compact but make more effective use of the space.
Hope that helps.

Yes, thanks for that WH. I suppose an element of that extra space is less usable in the old terminal due to the crescent shape, so will probably end up similar. :)

who wants to bet Tracy rocks up on Look north tonight spouting some clap-trap lol

And she did!
GALBAs chief Foren was on and looked a lot less smug than before. He looked like he's lost a tenner and found a penny. And that penny appears to have just dropped. He acknowledged that the airport now looked likely to grow to 7m passengers a year anyway. Ooops! No mention of his 5m limit either.

Ha I knew she’d get her face on Look North….. I’ve emailed her saying that I feel her actions and that of her Labour MP colleagues were unforgiveable and that I hope her time in role is limited.
The GALBA chap was a special moment- enjoy your bike lanes mate, I look forward to being stuck in traffic en-route to LBA, so you have some emissions to mouth breath when you cycle past to your next banner bash with all your 3 pals.

A few of them have been abit smug over social media toady and judging by some replies (oooo look we've won)! not alot of people knew about the previous planning approval. Shame on them. Get it built and quick not what we wanted but an expansion should be welcomed during these difficult times.

And here's the walk through Video that was produced by LBA when they started the 2019 Terminal Extension ground works, this was released just before the project was put on hold..

I have a feeling that there will be some interior design or layout changes given the new CEO and Board members. Hopefully they will release an updated version in due course.

I would expect some low carbon initiatives to be added to this version - possibly more planting and a green roof etc etc....

Sobel just spouting his nonsense and praising GALBA on Radio Leeds. Not a good way to start the day. Blood pressure up now.
Remember, stay calm, breathe and think that we get something a lot more modern than we have, hopefully more choice and GALBA dont get their eco terminal so its no victory for them! Lets see what happens when the token diggers are replaced by the heavy duty stuff! I can see protests!

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
