Concord Lover, with respect, it is the airline who will call the shots in the end, not the airport. I just find what you are saying as completely unrealistic at this time.
LBA needs more connections to the European alliances and hubs first. They cant run before they can walk.
It would be nice to see a fledgling long-haul network at LBA, but I just dont see CO being tempted to risk diluting its Manchester operations (dont forget Manchester has far more suitable facilities for the job), to move to an untested market, despite it probably being enough to support it.
You also need to remember how long-haul operators make money. Its not just about filling seats, but getting regular premium business passengers, and also freight. As I said, Tony Hallwood is the right man for the job, but I dont see it happening in the short to medium term.
