Hold your horses guys, Leeds is still up there showing on the Vueling drop down of destinations so I wouldn't rule anything out just yet.

Well looks like we can forget any further growth from flybe.com next summer at Leeds/Bradford, even though the new Aberdeen and Southampton routes will be extra's for next summer 2015 compared to summer 2014. They have just announced a load of new routes including a a new base at Bournemouth Airport with 2x Dash 8-400s been based down there, Looks like its all part of a MAG deal (Manchester Airport group).
Aberdeen also gets 4x based Dash 8-Q400's next summer. One can pursume that at least one of them aircraft will operate some of the Shuttle flights through Leeds.

"Flybe is pleased to announce the opening of a base for two Q400 aircraft at Bournemouth Airport starting in March 2015 that serves both business and leisure orientated routes. This initiative builds on Flybe's already strong presence along England's South Coast.

Flybe will also commence limited operations without basing aircraft or crew at Stansted airport with a focus on giving the regional leisure passenger cost effective access into London. Stansted operations will also commence in March 2015.

In addition, Flybe will re-establish an aircraft and crew base at Aberdeen Airport in March 2015 after successfully rebuilding our network and presence at the airport over the last 12 months. The plan will see four Q400 aircraft based in Aberdeen. Our objective is to build a strong and vibrant operation in the North East of Scotland that benefits both the local community and those seeking access to Aberdeen from other regions of the UK
and Europe."

"Flybe is pleased to announce today a new three year agreement with Manchester Airports Group (MAG). The agreement is significant because it provides cost certainty and a competitive cost structure at Manchester Airport over a three year period at Flybe's second largest base. In addition, the agreement locks-in similarly advantageous cost certainty for our ongoing operations through East Midlands airport. It also includes Stansted and Bournemouth airports."

PS.I don't know if it's just me but it feels like LBA is been left behind for some reason, As it seems like that most other UK airports are getting new routes and growth announcements for next year....

...and yet another rumour down the pan then. I guess the 'new stands for 2015 rumour' will be the next one to bite the dust.

Sorry, am I missing something here? How does an announcement of this kind automatically mean that Flybe will not do something at LBA? They probably won't but there is no rule that says that all new bases have to be announced on the same day in the same press release. We always seem to take a negative view. A few months back, we were all bemoaning the fact that we were losing Monarch, and we didn't. They are still here.

Tongue in cheek, this is Leeds we're talking about. We're so used to being miles behind everywhere else, it's become customary to moan about all the negatives. :dirol:

With Flybe having already expanded at LBA recently, I'm not sure we should feel too disheartened with their announcement today.

I hear that there is a distinct possibility that Newquay might be reappearing on the destination list from Leeds/Bradford for next summer 2015 to operated by flybe.
To add fuel to the fire the manager at Newquay Airport has today pubically said they will be announcement regarding new routes next week. Meanwhile Flybe are said to be releasing there 2015 summer sun flights for sale next week on December 9th.

Would be good to have that one back. Got family down that way and it's a long drive!

Hope you are right about this lbaspotter. We badly need some links back to the South West. M1/M42/M5/A38 are not much fun and Cross Country trains are a nightmare on a weekend.

I saw a list the other day on mancester aiport facebool page with all the new routes for 2015 and there was quite a list I can tell you! What do we get new routes from jet2 to places alredy served by other airlines at LBA

Looks like any hope of Turkish making an appearance has gone out the window as they have just announced a third daily from MAN

Am really surprised we don't already have Turkish at LBA, this should be one of the main target routes

I don't see why an airline of the size of Turkish could not operate quite happily from both MAN and LBA. KLM do for starters. It would give Turkish a potential edge by being the only hub operator to that region from this side of the Pennines other than Emirates at NCL.

I believe that Turkish are the ideal candidates for the likes of LBA and BRS as they have the right sized aircraft for the market. However I do feel both airports will have to wait a bit longer; what struck me about the MAN increase is that capacity stays the same - x3 A319s equals x2 A321s so despite the rumour about A330s appearing it seems they're choosing frequency so I wouldn't expect TK to launch LBA until capacity has been upped at MAN.

Have a look on PPRUNE guys and gals. Seems the local businesses and the airport are having a stab at trying to get Air India.

Air India are definitely on LBA's wish list. That said, I will be truly amazed if I ever see them on the ramp at LBA. One can but hope :)

I guess you've read the following article then Bigman? You've got to admit that Air India's Boeing 787 Dreamliner is the right aircraft for the said job. Better than trying to persuade PIA to come back I suppose seen as they not interested in sending a Boeing 777 to LBA.?

INDIA'S flag carrier airline Air India will tonight hear why it should add Yorkshire to its global destinations.

Representatives from the Yorkshire Asian Business Association (YABA) and Leeds Bradford Airport are in London to present at a Microsoft-hosted event focused on collaborations with India.

The meeting, which will also hear from Cobra Beer founder and chairman Lord Bilimoria, follows on from discussions in November when the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) met with YABA in Leeds.

Tony Hallwood, aviation development director at Leeds Bradford Airport, and YABA chairman Amarjit Singh are part of the delegation that will be lobbying to add a route that would provide a significant boost for both the airport and for international trade in the region.

Mr Singh hopes that tonight will be the start of strategic links between Yorkshire's international airport, Air India and FICCI.

He said: "We are trying to encourage and facilitate the relationship between Air India, Leeds Bradford Airport and FICCI, which represents 200,000 Indian businesses, some of which are keen to create joint ventures or work in partnership with UK businesses."

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
