Based on this latest schedule update, and assuming the Flybe take-over doesn't change the schedule;
2019 will see 1 less flight per week during peak-summer than 2018, and 764 less departing seats per week vs 2018

That's a lot of seats gone - over 6,000 per month if I read you correctly.

Flybe boost to 2019 summer schedule from Cardiff

Flybe, Europe’s largest regional airline, has confirmed a boost to its 2019 Summer schedule from Cardiff Airport with the continuation of its three times a day service to Dublin, increasing flights to three in each direction on Fridays with effect from 5th April 2019, resulting in customers having the choice of up to 15 flights a week to the Irish capital.

I smiled wryly at another instance of inventive spin by an airport/airline in a news release. If the overall number of flights is slightly down on summer 2018 and with noticeably fewer available seats because of changes to aircraft type, how is this a boost to Flybe's summer schedule this year?

What an airport applying a bit of spin?! 🤣😆

Flybe cancelled the return flight from Milan to Cardiff yesterday and so far the subsequent flights for Flybe on that aircraft (G-FBJK) have been cancelled. It is still in Milan, any news on when it will return or if it's receiving maintenance.

I would not think Flybe would do 1 sector with the second planned. I would be sure the aircraft went tech in Milan.

Could somebody confirm whether the ABZ flight from CWL will return? Skyscanner seems to think so. I'm booking for August and its a 3hr journey so it possibly means that it stops in NCL like it used to? Have not gone further back than August. Any clarification will be appreciated. Thanks

On the Flybe website i think it's only available as a 1 stop via Newcastle but every time i've tried to check by doing a dummy booking the website seems to have a meltdown. I do know someone who has used KLM via Amsterdam to get too Aberdeen. I definitely isn't a direct route and i don't see it being one anytime soon.

Im reading on tge dried plum that DSA and CWL bases to close at the end of the summer season. Any one else heard any thing about this.

24 cancelations across the network today due to crew shortages maybe there is some connection if DSA and CWL rumour is correct ?

I think we need to wait and see as when it comes to CWL and that forum many people there hope for the worst to happen.

Crew shortages shouldn't have any effect on the closures as CWL has it's own based crew, many of which are local to CWL. So closing the base doesn't necessarily mean those crew will relocate. If the bases were to close it would be down to poor performance. It's a very big IF, but if it is true then that's not to say the routes wont be pulled, just operated from other bases

Also if the base does close several routes could continue.

Cant see it salvaging any of Flybes routes though. The routes flybe operate are not the routes FR tend to operate (domestic). Unless the funding that was going to flybe has now been given to FR in a very good deal. Hopefully we'll find out soon.

Heads Up!

For some weird reason, my days off work tend to involve being out of my flat by 5am and not getting back until 10pm. Back to work and the regular "fix" of 7.40am to 7.15pm hours
Heatwave Mk2 next week?
Some explosive weather build-ups currently in the North of England. What is it like where you are?

I don't believe I am quite covering enough roles at work. Its now 4 on a bad day, 5 on a good day and there is scope for a 6th and 7th role. Still on minimum pay but had the biggest payrise in the company,
