It's interesting that the Conservative AM is taking a pop at Qatar not returning when it was Cairns who piped up about it to get everyone's interest pricked.

Likewise they don't promote the airport at all. They would actively see it sacrificed on their altar of the free market.

As for Labour, Jeremy Miles didn't mention it once in his campaign literature. Wales sometimes does a great job in dropping the breeze block on its foot and looking perplexed when it hurts.

The Conservative party are only interested in using it to bash Labour. They don't seem to have a credible plan for the airport but they have stopped short of saying close it because it wouldn't look good as it's in the Vale of Glamorgan and their leader styles himself as a Vale MS despite being a list one.

On the beach, has signed a deal with Ryanair, enabling their passengers to purchase seats on Ryanair flights, without marked up prices added by the travel company. This is now the fourth travel company to do a deal with Ryanair, including two within the last month. It will give CWL passengers a greater choice of travel companies for their holidays..

Mynt Travel will be doing a Cardiff Airport day tomorrow as part of St Davids Day.

Bit of political news related to Cardiff Airport and it seems there will definitely be a new minister responsible for transport when the First Minister forms his government as Lee Waters who as Deputy Climate Change minister is responsible for transport has stated he'll be stepping down.

I'm not at all surprised. With 20mph limit to one side, far too little experience beforehand from him to take on this role in the first place.

Tbf most Ministers in government don't have any sort of experience for the jobs they do when running the country

They should make Ken Skates Transport Minister, at least he had some interest in the airport when he was Transport Minister.

That's something that has always puzzled me. Ministers rely on advisors in order to make decisions. Why not skip the middle man, and have the advisors form the government?
You'd have to change the system to one more like the USA where the cabinet is appointed rather than elected.

Away from politics for a moment. I am booking car parking at the airport for my summer break. The airport now offer an option with EV charging.

Recently flew from Gatwick and this option not available. Sure they have a big EV station but it's far better to have the car charged ready to drive home. Positive stuff.

The EuroGames 2027 are coming to Cardiff with over 5000 athletes to attend. This could prove to be an opportunity for Cardiff airport.

They have time to get their act together and talk more with airlines. Not to bring a downer on things but they may come via London airports or BHX. Now's the time though for them to get their bums in gear!

I've seen a few photos on social media of the new security area ( the landside part) and it looks really modern and minimalistic with a white, black, silver and red scheme. It looks the entrance is where Cafe Cwtch used to be with a view of the BAMC building.

Heads Up!

For some weird reason, my days off work tend to involve being out of my flat by 5am and not getting back until 10pm. Back to work and the regular "fix" of 7.40am to 7.15pm hours

I don't believe I am quite covering enough roles at work. Its now 4 on a bad day, 5 on a good day and there is scope for a 6th and 7th role. Still on minimum pay but had the biggest payrise in the company,
