If i remember correctly Cardiff Aviation have a facility on the south side of the airport so i wonder if some more work will come there way.

Possible unless the meeting was being conducted off site ie Welsh government buildings?
It would have made more sense to drop the 2 guys off at the government buildings as aircraft has no where to land there. From the 2 guys dropped off how long till the aircraft departed with these 2 guys on board.

The aircraft arrived just before 9am and departed just before 2 pm. In reality there is a fair few reasons they could've been down this way for that time and one could be to meet travel agents in the area to push their BHX packages maybe. Though i'm still hoping they had a clandestine meeting with the CWL management!:sneaky:

With the airport wanting to broaden its operations and become as profitable as possible would winter aircraft storage be viable? There is only 6 aircraft that overnight in the winter and the airport isn't very busy and there is no French rugby airlift this March. So could the airport offer an airline like Jet2, that tends to park a lot of its fleet in the winter, cheap parking on the Echo apron for the winter to generate extra revenue?

The Red Arrows and a pair of RAF Typhoons are on the ground on the southern side of the airport at the moment. Should have some photos to upload later on!

Please dont trash this.

Is anyone going to RIAT this year but doing a day visit from one of the campsites, and wants to car share? I spent last year at Townsend ant it was brilliant, I was hoping to go again this year but as I do not have transport it boils down to someone with a car who wants to go who can pick me up from RCT.

In the airport now waiting for my Vueling flight to Barcelona. Security was pretty quick though before that the boarding pass scanners weren't working which caused a bit of a queue. Departures is nice and busy with 4 aircraft boarding. 2 Flybe, Blue Islands and Norwegian. For the first time i got told off for taking pictures and video of departure area so was asked politely to delete it all. Am allowed to take pictures of the planes though.

Really? That’s quite strange...never been asked to do that anywhere in the world.....someone having a bad day or a new CWL policy?

Let us know how you get on Jerry.

Well i made it to Barcelona and didn't get kicked out of the airport!
What i found odd was that it seemed that i couldn't video/take photos in the departures area yet taken photos of the planes being turned around was ok and taking photo/video of my aircraft at the gate didn't seem to be a problem either.

I would like to say some jobsworth, but I think it is actually a correct rule of thumb for Airside areas from a security perspective. I would agree that taking photos of aircraft is the same.
Someone is probably too "aware" of the rule and wants to enforce it, but when you think how many people take photos in the Airport of themselves before flying out or going on holiday? How many people have shared photos of the new departure lounge? It's not something really that can (or should) be policed. If anything it's slightly out of date rule given the availability of camera phones these days. Might be worth dropping an email to CWL so they can review the policy.

Many on the flight?

Jerry it was a good job you not on the last KLM flight of the day into CWL,the night stopping one Friday just gone. I noticed the flight was cancelled due to low pax loadings, that was the first flight to AMS was cancelled as well.

I noticed that on Fr24. I'd be surprised if it was down to low passenger numbers as that would cause disruption for the morning flight. I noticed today that the mid morning flight was an E190.

KLM Cityhopper still appear to be cancelling flights despite cutting back a bit on some frequencies to some UK airports this summer. Last Monday the lunchtime AMS flight to/from Bristol was cancelled. There appeared to be no obvious reason such as weather or industrial action so it might have been for one or more of any number of reasons.

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
