Due to the MAX issues TUI will need some replacement aircraft this summer.

DSA was also expanded so I wonder if they'll get an ASL aircraft as according to Wikipedia ASL group have 2 737 800s on order.
Maybe ASL will base 1 aircraft at each?Bristol has also been expanded in terms of 737s this summer with the two 757s leaving and being replaced by the smaller aircraft. I read talk of some of the 757s being retained for a while longer because of the MAX issues but I don't know if that is so or, if it is, whether BRS will be affected. If not, they will need a couple of extra 737s there too.
I don't know how many TUI UK airports were due to take extra 737s this summer, either because of base expansion such as at CWL or through retirement of some of the 757s.
CWL will always be down the pecking order when it comes to airports like MAN, compared to them CWL is viewed as a backwater airport. Thinking on it I think CWL is lucky they didn't cut the 3rd based aircraft because of it.Blame the MAX for this issue. However I am annoyed how CWL gets shafted with this arrangement.
When TUI had shiny new aircraft to show off, they were based all at MAN. Therefore now the shinny bits of metal are grounded, they should receive the fallout.
Once again a total disregard and respect from TUI for Welsh passengers.
I don’t think you can say this. For all we know Cardiff might have been getting a MAX that’s why we now have a sub. TUI don’t seem to leave aircaft at bases all summer like TCX. They seem to rotate them through destination airports.Blame the MAX for this issue. However I am annoyed how CWL gets shafted with this arrangement.

CWL was not getting the Max for Summer 2019 and that is a fact.I don’t think you can say this. For all we know Cardiff might have been getting a MAX that’s why we now have a sub. TUI don’t seem to leave aircaft at bases all summer like TCX. They seem to rotate them through destination airports.
Yep Cardiff will be way down the list for the MAXs and the bigger bases like MAN will always get priority.
MAN, BHX and LGW are their biggest and most important bases so will always get priority in resources and aircraft over CWL that's just a business fact. As for the A321s it would be nice to see one at CWL but they've chosen to base them at MAN and BHX and CWL will get the 737 it was always going to get just with a different paint scheme! Also no doubt one day CWL will see the MAX but I doubt it'll be before the likes of BHX and LGW!Then why has MAN been given an Olympus A321, and the 3rd biggest base, BHX, been given 2 Olympus A321?
I really can't imagine a board of directors of a company like TUI sat around the table all going "so which base shall we bugger up this time?"
It is very likely that there are several factors as to why CWL has been chosen (Along with others - BHX/MAN and BRS 757's), none of them being, let's p*ss off the Welsh.
Don't forget that several other small bases already get Sunwing 737's every summer with Canadian Pilots.
