With TUI offering 40.000 extra seats for summer 2024,will this mean a 4th based aircraft or larger aircraft?.
Boeing 737.800 189 seats
seats per week 1323,
summer season approx 26 weeks = 34.398 seats.

Extra away based aircraft I believe on routes like Dalaman and Enfidha

TUI have changed the Monday Enfidha departure from a another carrier to a non based TUI flight.
NBE-CWL 11.00-14.10 CWL-NBE 15.30-18.30, looks like it could be a BHX based aircraft.

Interesting because there's a BHX aircraft down to operate an Enfidha W pattern.

sorry are we talking about summer 2024? the Monday flight is operated by a EMA based aircraft.

Summer 2024 :- Mon EMA-NBE-CWL 07:00-10:00/11:00-14:10, CWL-NBE-EMA 15:30-18:30/19:30-22:40

Yep Summer 24.

CWL will see a new route from TUI in winter 2024/25! Well kind of!
TUI will essentially start Tunisia early in 2025.
Enfidha will begin 7/2/25 1 weekly on Fridays.
CWL-NBE 06.45-10.45 NBE-CWL 11.45-13.55

TUI have released winter 2024/25 and this is what it looks like at the moment
Sharm el Sheikh 1 weekly
Lanzarote 2 weekly
Malaga 1 weekly
Alicante 2 weekly
Gran Canaria 1 weekly
Tenerife South 3 weekly
Palma de Mallorca 1 weekly (in April 2025)
Paphos 1 weekly (from 26/2/25)
Only 1 Barbados departure on 23/3/25
So TUI will offer at least 10 weekly departures rising to 12 in April.
Winter 2024/25 now looks like this
Sharm el Sheikh 1 weekly
Lanzarote 2 weekly
Malaga 1 weekly
Alicante 2 weekly
Gran Canaria 1 weekly
Tenerife South 3 weekly
Enfidha 1 weekly (from 7/2/25)
Paphos 1 weekly (from 26/2/25)

Looks like the Sunwing departs back to Canada on 6th October.
08.00 TUI Toronto TOM8956

Looks like Sharm will be dropped for Summer 2024, flights are no longer onsale May to September. Onsale in April and after October but what the bet it'll be dropped for winter as well.

I do have to question why they bother with Sharm from Cardiff, it does seem a route that may well be marginal as they do seem to put it onsale and then cut it which from the airports point of view is frustrating when instead they could possibly use the slot to add extra frequency on routes that seem to work from Cardiff ie Turkey or Greek islands or Canary islands.

A bit disappointing, but as you say there are several more popular routes that TUI could use the slot on.

I suspect that a non based route will be shifted to it.

It's been posted elsewhere that the non based Enfidha will now be operated by a based aircraft in the slot Sharm el Sheikh was due to use.

TUI will release Summer 2025 tomorrow. Fingers crossed we'll see extra for CWL. A new destination like Marrakesh and increase in departures to 50 weekly would be fantastic in my opinion.

Well unfortunately it looks like it's a carbon copy of Summer 2024.

CWL could really do with some good news, everything seems to be coming stagnant, with no sign of expansion from any of the current airlines.

Well i suppose it's better than cuts and there's still plenty of time for extra to be added but it would've been nice for some good news now.

I think that you may be a bit premature at your reactions. S25 is so far off right now and we all know how things can change. So let's be hopeful and positive for additions further down the line. Remember we are only in W23/24 and we have 2 other seasons to get to before S25.

Heads Up!

For some weird reason, my days off work tend to involve being out of my flat by 5am and not getting back until 10pm. Back to work and the regular "fix" of 7.40am to 7.15pm hours
Heatwave Mk2 next week?
Some explosive weather build-ups currently in the North of England. What is it like where you are?

I don't believe I am quite covering enough roles at work. Its now 4 on a bad day, 5 on a good day and there is scope for a 6th and 7th role. Still on minimum pay but had the biggest payrise in the company,
