Back in September I flew from CWL to Bulgaria with TUI on their 800. Also on the same day were 2 Max flying to PMI and Dubrovnik. This happened every week so although the Max wasn't a based aircraft it was a regular occurance on a weekly basis

It'll be curious to see how this shift will effect Cardiff. There's often complaints online of their flights being very expensive especially when routes which they are the only airline are concerned ie Mallorca. Could a more European/Jet2 type operation in the future help facilitate a 5th based aircraft in the future? Could it help Cardiff be more competitive in the flight only market? I suppose time will tell.

Looking at FR24 once G-TUKR and G-FDZD arrive from Kittilia and Malaga CWL will have 4 TUI aircraft on the ground.
G-FDZR has been on the ground for 24 hours and G-TAWX for 5 days.

Although the timetable is set to ramp up on December the 20th, I half expected Cardiff to go down to 1 aircraft between November and then. I see they have two with the timetable thinly spread between them. To see they have 4 parked up is surprising. I wonder if they have a good deal on parking fees.

Yeah I expected the 2nd not to arrive until December. They must be getting a deal to park considering they used to only have 1 aircraft.

I'm surprised that it wasn't an event as I thought it would be. Although I knew it was the first flight there was no mention of it until halfway through the flight the first officer mentioned it. I wasn't expecting a water cannon archway but I seem to remember with any new route they provide free cupcakes or something. Still, it was a good smooth flight despite the delay to departure due to "air traffic control restrictions". Some turbulence after flying near Lisbon but it was a smooth run. A full flight apart from 2 seats, pax didn't board so they had to offload their luggage. I overheard one of the cabin crew mention it. I wasn't expecting the 737-8 Max for this flight, so that was a surprise! We'll see if we get the same on the flight home next SaturdayPXL_20251220_132056367.jpgPXL_20251220_175403753.MP.jpgPXL_20251220_174401299.MP.jpgPXL_20251220_174514164.MP.jpg

Yeah you'd have thought they'd have made a bigger deal about it.
Seems there was some fuss now they’ve posted some pictures on their social media.

But nowhere near the kind of fanfare there normally is with new routes.

Maybe they’re saving the budget for something bigger coming soon…?

🤞

Probably WestJet

Well the little fuss there was wasn't visible to most of the passengers. Still it's important to be grateful in this instance that TUI started two new routes on Saturday.

After a week in Fuerteventura I came home yesterday. I knew on the outward flight that it wouldn't be a full flight on the inward flight as some pax were staying for two weeks. Out of all the Canary Islands I've stayed on Fuerteventura is easily the best and most relaxing. Great service by the cabin crew on outward and inward flights. The assistance team were again excellent...top marks to them. My other half requires assistance due to limited walking. I'll definitely go again from CWL. Let's hope this route will stay beyond what is currently available.

Glad you had such a good time!

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
