We can always rely on lfc84 to ensure we're kept up to-date with negative news and bad publicity for MAN.

I'm not saying the situation at MAN shouldn't be highlighted but it would be nice if some of the contributors were as quick to post positive news.
Perhaps they will if and when things improve or when new routes are announced??

Seen this on another forum:

Jet2 moving all flights to Bulgaria, France, Greece, Italy, Jersey & Madeira back into T1 from the 28th April.

Not a great surprise.
This also coincides with the full re-opening of T3 (planned at the moment anyway).

It makes me so sad to see how things are at our local airport right now...I look at FR24 everyday and see almost all flights are delayed daily now.
I will use MAN on Good Friday and Easter Monday and I'm dreading it! Especially as I will be using T3 with Ryanair for both flights!

In other news...it's nice to see Runway 2 back open.

Afternoon folks

Just an observation that today's second Gulf Air to Bahrain has just left Manchester 3 hours late. Coupled with the first flight last Wednesday also going out approx two hours late as well is anyone aware of any particular reason surely it cant just be baggage issues.

The late arrivals in Bahrain will affect connecting passengers onto further destinations from Bahrain.

Also the morning Qatar is usually late out as well I hope its not solely baggage issues.

Cheers from Bilko.

Did the Gulf Air arrive on time Bilko, do you know? Same with the QR when it left late?
Gulf Air flight arrived around 7.15am so definitely not late.
Seems to be across the board at MAN currently, many late departures even if the arrival is on time or early…

Hi again

Yes the Gulf air arrived slightly early today as does the Qatar most days but 3 hours late out seems a bit extreme even with the well documented issues at nearly all UK airports however Emirates are usually ok.

I hope so as my daughter goes out to Thailand via Dubai on her honeymoon in 2 weeks time if its late out it obviously causes stress and anxiety for onward connections at Dubai, of which there will be many passengers from the Manchester flight.

Cheers from Bilko.

It's well documented for anyone within aviation, has an admiration of aviation, that the last 2 years the industry was ignored by those with power. By those who thought they knew better, when they so clearly didn't, and those in power, who didn't want to address the issues which are now been highlighted. They ignored the industry, repeatedly, when they all said you cannot turn this industry back on like you left it when you turned it off.

This is what you get when you neglect the industry, when you don't allow them to retain staff, as they have to make quick decisions regarding furlough and redundancies etc. The bounce back was always predicted to happen, and as usual, the government have come out on counter attack saying the industry is been greedy. Not like lining your own pockets with £50billion's worth of freshly printed corrupt money greedy, but still none the less greedy.

MAN is running low of Swissport staff. And there is only so long/gesture of good will, staff will give companies before they too are fatigued tried and quite frankly decide to walk. Those joining join and see this also walk. I believe the problem is the gate staff/ramp teams are that stretched thinly that they cannot bring on early morning arrivals onto stand to turn them around. So sadly Qatar/Gulf Air are not receiving the service that they contract out.

This is the beginning of the Summer - things will get interesting come August. Let me tell you that.

We didn't have a good experience coming back into MAN Sunday morning just gone. Landed in MAN T2 to find we were assigned to a bus gate in which there was no bus or stairs just a marshaller. 20 minutes had passed until the stairs arrived, then another 20 mins for the bus to arrive. Got through border force in 15 minutes, but then had to wait 3 hours for our suitcases to turn up due to having the incorrect ramp for the Boeing 757 available.
disappointing....Jet2??

Arrived back in Manchester T1 yesterday on an Easyjet flight from Gibraltar. It has picked up a 1.5 hour delay downroute so arrived in and among 3 others..We were met by an impressive array of Dnata vehicles and personnel. Quickly disembarked (good crew). For once Border Force were well staffed as well as the E Gates working(always go to a desk, cant fathom those e gates but thats just me)..No delays. Place did look clean and tidy and saw cleaning staff at work airside...Baggage was subject to a slight delay due to so many incoming but again Dnata staff in attendance. From Touchdown to leaving T1 was 45mins, which is good..

The arrivals part was working fine yesterday, so praise where its due.

DHL for Easyjet?

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
