[email protected]Have you got the link? I’ve got a lot I want to say to the leader of the councillor. A few emails in his inbox over the next few days won’t hurt. And I won’t let it go. I expect a response.

Changes to times on FLYER
We're making some changes to FLYER from 3 Sept to better reflect the customer demand at our quietest times.
A1 Leeds - Leeds Bradford Airport
Buses will now run every 30 minutes 7 days a week - this better reflects the number of customers travelling with us. Customers travelling between Kirkstall and Leeds will still have the same number of buses an hour with us, as we increase Aireline to run every 20 minutes. Some of our earliest journeys each day will no longer run due to low customer demand.
A2 Bradford - Leeds Bradford Airport - Harrogate
We'll be changing some of our early and late journeys due to low customer demand.
A3 Bradford - Leeds Bradford Airport - Otley
- The trip at 4.30am from Bradford and at 5.27am from the airport will no longer operate.
- Journeys at 7.40pm and 8.40pm from Bradford will now finish at Leeds Bradford Airport.
- On Mondays to Fridays, the trip which currently leaves Harrogate at 5.40am will not start until 6.15am at the Airport.
- On all days, the trips which depart Harrogate at 8.55pm and 9.55pm will now start at the airport and the 11.27pm from the airport to Bradford will no longer run.
- On Saturdays, the 5.30am from Bradford will now leave at 5.45am and will finish at the airport. The trips which currently leave Harrogate at 5.55am and 6.55am will now begin at Leeds Bradford Airport 32 mins later.
- On Sundays, the 5.35am from Bradford will now leave at 5.45am and will finish at the airport. The 6.55am from Harrogate will now start at the airport at 7.27am.
We'll be changing some of our evening journeys due to low customer demand. Also, the journeys currently departing Bradford after 6.10pm Monday to Saturday will have some revised timings from Leeds Bradford Airport onwards.
- On all days, the trip leaving Otley at 10.35pm will now finish at the Airport.
- On Saturdays, the 11.10pm bus from Bradford will no longer run.
- On Sundays, we won't be running the 10.10pm or the 11.10pm trip from Bradford.
New timetables will be available to download soon. If you need any help, please get in touch by emailing our friendly team at [email protected] or tweet us @flyerbuses.
Never mind. This is Leeds. We can walk or cycle instead! Not sure what they'll do in Bradford or Harrogate. From September 3rd service changes the will be some cuts to the Leeds-Bradford Airport Flyer Buses network operated by Transdev due to low usage effecting routes A1, A2 & A3
2026 do?We need trains! As soon as possible!
It'll have to. It's probably the biggest transport development in Yorkshire if you look at the rate anything else gets done around here2026 do?
And probably 5 times more expensive knowing what the railways charge for a ticket. What the airport needs is Supertram with a direct link to both Leeds & Bradford. Has been promised by numerous governments for Leeds and pulled each time for various reasons. HS2 scrapped to Leeds so Boris Johnson promises Leeds a tram network when in power. What has happened since, Nothing. Now we have that useless West Yorkshire Mayor Tracey Brabin promising a tram network linking West Yorkshire, we haven't got a cat in hell's chance of that happening despite the promise of levelling up by the government. If Manchester wants something irrespective of cost the government cough up the money from somewhere yet the third biggest city in England Leeds gets no support for infrastructure. LBA will always be a back water as far as public transport and major road development is concerned despite year on year passenger growth. Leeds City Council wants us all to travel by push bike with out suitcases in tow to get to the airport.I'd not pin too many hopes on the train...
Park and Ride arrangement rather than direct link means a typical journey will be:
Wait for shuttle bus
Lift all luggage on
5 min shuttle bus journey
Lift all luggage off
Walk all luggage to platform
Wait 5 mins for train
Lift all luggage on to train
15 min train ride
Lift all luggage off train
Likely require a change of platform and train to reach home
Actually worse than just getting the bus which people aren't getting...
Is that the expected opening date?2026 do?
But there's no space at Horsforth for additional parking, getting in and out of the station car park is a total nightmare, (and dangerous) , Station Road is incredibly busy and congested, and the Council are planning to close the quickest way to the airport (Scotland Lane) off to through traffic . Horsforth simply isn't the solution.I no the new station is going to be a Park and Ride as well, but I drive trains on the Harrogate Line and where the station is planned to be will be one heck of a task to build it in that location due to the railway entering a cutting, they be better off spending the money on something like the Luton Dart from Horsforth station, and advertise Horsforth station as LBA aswell, Horsforth also has the advantage there is a turn back siding so more trains can be run to Horsforth and the signalling between Leeds and Horsforth is set up to run more trains but after Horsforth the signalling is a different set up, also is there demand for a park and ride ?
Look on the bright side. Your car emits less CO2 than a bus, especially a bus with not many people on it.Good news about the buses!
Just booked the train to get to LBA when we go to Guernsey at the end of August, so the changes will affect us when we get back.
You can't usually travel by train from the East Coast because you either can't get there to catch your flight, or can't get home afterwards. With the Aurigny flight timings, it is possible.
Never mind, I can always use my car and send some more Carbon Dioxide into the Atmosphere.
I must admit, most A1 buses I see are fairly full and well occupied even along Victoria Avenue on the last stretch into the airport. Doesn't seem long since they introduced more frequent services! Why is it that every time I use the A1 it is absolutely rammed with airport users. Sorry Transdev but you are in cloud cuckoo land if you think the buses aren't busy
