I doubt it because LCC have already proposed to close Scotland Lane as a cut through which would be fine if they sorted out the main roads to the airport but they chose to can the link road.
Its still the plan to build a new road from the A658, North of the Avro factory, linking to the proposed new employment hub and the parkway station. Effectively the Northern end of the canned link road.

So it seems the intention is to use the parkway station for commuters coming from the Otley, Pool, Arthington and Yeadon areas, with ( as I understand it) pedestrian access from the lower end of Cookridge.

If Scotland Lane is closed to through traffic, it will not only stop people living along Scotland Lane accessing the parkway station, but also the airport. Seems a bit counter productive! It would force people to access the airport from Horsforth via Bayton Lane (itself inadequate) and create real traffic issues at the junction with Yeadon High Street and A658. It would also do little to relieve pressure on Horsforth Station, the busiest in Leeds outside of Leeds City.

But, this is Leeds. North West Leeds! Where nothing ever gets done.

If mere mortals like us on the forum can forsee these issues why can't highly paid staff at LCC Leeds Clown College!

We can move but only on bikes ha ha
Speaking of bikes, WYCA have just approved a new railway station at Elland costing £49 million (the original estimate was £20.3 million!) with a further £22 million to be spent on new cycling and walking routes. £22 million!! No doubt the new commitment by WYCA to the LBA Parkway will go the same way with ever increasing costs and seemingly limitless amounts to spend on cycle ways. That is if the Brabin “shovels in the ground” ever materialise.

The original cost was approximately £20 million for Elland in 2017. Consultation, after consultation, added delays and costs have ballooned. Similar story for LBA parkway, White Rose etc.

Meantime in Greater Manchester, their mayor seems to deliver. Our Tracy loves a chance for a photo shoot, a sound bite, a promise of something in 2040, but only ever delivers a bus lane, or an expenses bill for another unnecessary international conference that she feels the need to attend, rather than actually delivering to the people of West Yorkshire.

Plan ahead.

All checked in for my flight to Sydney from Manchester via Heathrow. Been waiting for this trip for nearly a year and now tomorrow I'll finally head to Australia and New Zealand!
If anyone would like to share their local airport news right here in our news area let me know so I can give you the correct permissions to do so. It only takes a couple of minutes to upload a news story with an accompanying image. The news items can then be shared on the site homepage by you. #TakePart #Forums4airports Bring the news to one place!
survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
