Does anyone know what exactly is going on with the master plan? It was meant to be published in the spring yet here we are in July?

A thought occurred to me the other day when somebody mentioned how P.Kehoe's departure was rather sudden as they didn't have somebody lined up to take his place. May a resistance to his ambitious plans have played a part in his leaving the role?

We are hearing more and more stories of people being held up in queues for security, baggage reclaim, and other issues associated with a very busy airport. Something needs to be done and done soon. If passengers have repeatedly unpleasant experiences using BHX, they're unlikely to come back.

It all seems to have gone very quiet 🙁

If anyone remembers an interview a couple of years ago with Mr Kehoe he suggested that he was still to meet with other parties to discuss the new master plan and that 'he hoped the plans would be ambitious'.

I don't think that Mr Kehoe's departure was as sudden as it appears to us members of the public but lets hope that the ambition of the future, or lock of, wasn't a contributing factor.

How sudden or not will seen by how soon a successor is appointed. That should be soon if he gave decent notice.
If not soon questions will need to be asked as to his reasons for leaving.

Looks like foundations for the new hotel. Picture credit goes to PerpetualBrum from SSC

All of these hotels are great, but like others have said, we'll be brimming soon unless some serious plans are put in place in regards to passenger services.

I hope that lessons have been learned from this year and they will be better prepared for S18.

Browsing Twitter yesterday it looked to be another night of chaos, airport staff were on hand but they just seem to be firefighting. The handling really looks to have been a total shambles, 40 minutes and still no steps at the aircraft, passengers waiting over an hour and a half with still no sign of bags, the reply is that Swissport are short staffed.

Next year they need to be on top of this or those extra passengers gained will not be coming back.

The world of capitalism, as long as the profits are being made who cares too much about how customer service is.Get tired of reading the same apology over an over again. Easier to blame everybody else rather then deal with the issues. If it's not the border control then it's shortage 0f baggage handler blah blah.Sorry state everywhere.

1hr 30mins waiting for suitcase on the a380 last night. Not good. Again.

Was this until the first bag came, or your bags?

I will be flying back into BHX on the A380 later this year so hopefully things will have improved by then.

Just as a matter of interest and this isn't putting BHX off the hook as the situation seriously needs to imrove but with regards Emirates and DXB in general, ive heard a few horror stories about that airport too with waiting times and serious congestion. Does anybody have any more info on this ?

Heads Up!

For some weird reason, my days off work tend to involve being out of my flat by 5am and not getting back until 10pm. Back to work and the regular "fix" of 7.40am to 7.15pm hours
Heatwave Mk2 next week?
Some explosive weather build-ups currently in the North of England. What is it like where you are?

I don't believe I am quite covering enough roles at work. Its now 4 on a bad day, 5 on a good day and there is scope for a 6th and 7th role. Still on minimum pay but had the biggest payrise in the company,
