I dont see Easyjet doing anything rash at Liverpool, where will they go in the NW ? Space at MAN isn't limitless, and as a frequent flyer through LPL, I can tell you, you hear time and time again from passengers " I dont like Manchester Airport ".

If they get the hump, they only have themselves to blame for messing around with routes and not developing the base quicker, they have been asked, enough times, so they can't complain when someone else does.
I also don’t think they’ll do anything rash, they’re obviously doing well out of there. My concern was with growth and capacity in fleet but it would appear they are getting an extra 10 aircraft so that shouldn’t matter. However when compared to MAN growth at LPL is limited which might explain why they haven’t grown much from there, cos they’re at peak value.

I’m hopeful that the Jet2 base will be a net gain, and now that easyjet apparently appear to be pursuing growth im more confident now that they will see no reason to restrict or reduce their LPL presence. I was basing my out-loud thoughts purely on their recent retreat from other places such as NCL, STN and SEN combined with the rumours of a BHX base (announced today) and rumours of others. Their increase in fleet size should be able to cover that.

EasyJet to open a base in Alicante. The quadruple leisure routes are complete - ALC PMI AGP FAO. Coupled with other routes I think LBA and market can sustain the carrier using the airport off peak.
Makes you wonder why they didnt reestablish the Newcastle base. Maybe it was underperforming.

easyJet are set to announce some new routes tomorrow. Don't think it I'll involve LBA, but we can wish.

Also worth noting they are opening a new base in Alicante next summer 2024.
Easyjet operating into LBA from its med bases to me seems a good plan, its a good starting point and perhaps in the future LBA could become an easyjet base once the infrastructure if it ever happens is operational. Also to note flying into LBA from the med would mean the aircraft arrives in non peak times, ideal!
From what im aware of if easyjet base themselves at an airport they always want to be the number 1 or 2 largest low cost operator there, you can clearly see this with the bases they currently operate from.

That does seem to be their strategy however it appears that they've somewhat slacked over the years and not gone stuck with it as much for some bases - been #3 #4.

I agree thought it's about time we got easyJet in and told them to expand their offering. Utilising the quieter periods (AC departs ALC/AGP/PMI/FAO 7am UK time, be in Leeds around 930/10am time).

BHX they certainly wont be #1 or #2. They have added some SOU flights which is great for the airport, something to watch and some more SEN. LBA seems to be a huge missing market for them. FAO, PMI, ALC, AGP, flights would be a great / logical start. getting the easyJet holidays brand across Yorkshire.

FAO, PMI, ALC, AGP, flights would not be great! We already have them, lots! We need NEW destinations, I am sick and tired of trekking over to MAN for flights not served by LBA.
I think what zb.. Is saying is that you can always fill the aircraft to the bucket and spade destinations, ALC, AGP etc out of peak time flights to those places would be a great starting point, get the easyjet brand recognised more in yorkshire then expand with new flights to the likes of lisbon, madrid etc
I hate to say this again but airlines will only come once infrastructure is in place!

Building presence at LBA and gain market share on core sun routes to me makes a lot of sense. obviously unserved routes would be great. AMS is also a huge hole for point 2 point I think EZY would be able to do very well on.

I agree. But you need to also remember to establish themselves offering a mix of leisure such as these leisure markets establish themselves to then offer business. Amsterdam would be a lovely addition alongside Belfast initially.

Those type of flights though come when they start building a presence using routes like PMI and ALC too build that presence as the domestic flight option isn't available at LBA too build that presence. They then hopefully lead to routes like Amsterdam (which i just booked from MAN as it was half the price of LBA) and Paris etc. Easyjet as a company is also intent on building up it's holiday brand.

Great to see, some concerns on here about the LF on this route, seeing it expand to x5 weekly EZY must be happy with it (considering EMA was dropped) the same time LBA started. hopefully a more consistent schedule will attract loyal customers/ rebooks.

All checked in for my flight to Sydney from Manchester via Heathrow. Been waiting for this trip for nearly a year and now tomorrow I'll finally head to Australia and New Zealand!

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
