Yep my mistake, Sorry about that only just noticed that Leeds Utd are at home tomorrow and that its in fact Huddersfield town are down south tomorrow.

Re: Movements Log & Heads Up

Just noticed that Ryanair are sending in a non based Boeing 737-800WL, EI-DPH on this evenings delayed FR1502/1501 Dusseldorf-Weeze service. This is normally operated by an LBA based aircarft on Mondays.

I guess this must be down to the fact that one of the based aircraft diverted to Liverpool earlier when we were snow closed and this has had a knock on effect on the remainder of todays based 2 aircraft programme from LBA

I also noticed that earlier, but saw they were both down at 16.45, so assumed was a mistake...?

Re: Movements Log & Heads Up

Could it be another airport's flight amalgamated into the Leeds flight?

Re: Movements Log & Heads Up

Hi

One of the Austrian Airlines flights had been removed from the LBA website live arrivals and departures page this morning. And it looks like they removed the wrong one as well.

AUA9385/9386 was the flight number for the mid-week festive service which has operated for the last 2 Tuesday by an Austrian Arrows, Fokker 100 aircraft.

AUA9719/9720 is the flight number for the normal Saturday service which re-started today and operates for the remainder of the winter season with flights now all planned to be operated by a Lauda Air's Boeing 737-800's.

Re: Movements Log & Heads Up

Hi Heather

AUA is the three letter ICAO code that Austrian Airlines use for all ATC communications while the airlines OS is the 2 letter IATA code that the airline tends to use for marking purposes. For things like ticketing, baggage tags, Boarding Cards and Airport information displays.

E.g. for another example: Jet2 use there 2 letter code LS for most of there marketing and also shows up on the airports flight displays and on your tickets. But if you watch any of the flight tracking/radar websites you’ll notice that they use there 3 letter code which is EXS for ATC purposes.

Somebody else maybe able to explain this better than me though.

Re: Movements Log & Heads Up

Did anyone else see the Red Arrows Hawk come in/over at 13:33 yesterday? Certainly made an approach on 32, but judging by the noise over to the West of our office it probably powered straight off after a low pass.

Re: Movements Log & Heads Up

According to the forums4airports DSA forum they ended up landing across there.

Re: Movements Log & Heads Up

The RAF Red Arrow aircraft in question was BAe Hawk XX308 ("RED6"). He only did one missed approach at LBA. As Aviador quite rightly pointed out he then headed over to DSA.

Re: Movements Log & Heads Up

Yes I can confirm a hawk did aast run down runway 32 at about 100ft yesterday afternoon

Re: Movements Log & Heads Up

Not sure what it was, but something fast, noisy and propellered just flew low over Cookridge Moseley Woods, not your usual training aircraft, sounded like a Spitfire to be honest - any ideas anyone?

Re: Movements Log & Heads Up

And again just now, it sounded a bit heavier than a Spitfire actually, but it was very fast whatever it was.

Re: Movements Log & Heads Up

Something with props was flying around over the Cookridge area last night although it wasn't fast. It seemed to be flying around in the circuit above LBA for quite some time, which is really strange as it was between 1130 and midnight. It didn't sound anything like our regular Dash 8 of Flybe and sounded rather 'old', but it was clearly audible overhead on and off for a good half hour or so.

Re: Movements Log & Heads Up

Did anybody see that large four-engined aircraft flying very low and loud over Leeds city centre on Saturday around 10.30am? It was heading in the direction of the airport. Looked like a military plane. It got everybody looking upwards.

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
