Can anyone shed anylight on the flight to Alta, Norway (BID7B) which arrived from Bonn-Cologne (BID7A) just after the special MOD Charter?

Them flights today were operated by Fairchild Swearingen SA.227DC (Metroliner) D-CNAG of BinAir.

Re: Movements Log & Heads Up

just wondering if there is a daily movements update posted on another website nowadays?!

Re: Movements Log & Heads Up

thanks Lbaspotter.
Pilot_Ben lbaviaiton.co.uk was a good website that had daily updates as well as some photo's but I think that has gone now.
lbaspotters.net is a very informative website, of which I viewed regularly before joining here. They have a brief list of viewable movements, but if you become a member you can view a full comprehensive list of all the movements at the airport daily, however since October 6th 2010 the full list hasn't been updated for some reason - maybe this could prompt someone to try and 'restart' this page...?

Hi Pilot_Ben and tomleeds

Just thought i'll let you know that from May 1st 2011 the LBA Daily Movements lists on my lbaspotters website have been re-started.

You'll have to log in to get them but they are there online now. See following link for details. http://www.lbaspotters.net/WEBPROTECT-latestmovements.htm

Hope that helps..

Re: Movements Log & Heads Up

oh fantastic news lbaspotter. I really was surprised when the full list seemed to stop :shok:

Re: Movements Log & Heads Up

LBASPotter, the Loganair is coming in from Cardiff too this afternoon. Any ideas what it is? Aircraft type? I am completely out of touch these days with this airline - the last time I saw one of theirs at LBA was years ago and was an ATP!

I wouldn't be sure, but I suspect that this flight might just be bringing in Cardiff City for their match at Burnley tomorrow.

According to a South Wales aviation enthusiasts' site the aircraft is a Saab 340, G-LGND.

It was due at CWL from BFS at 1040 as LOG 843 but landed at 1057. It's scheduled to leave for LBA as LOG 846 at 1545 and is due back at CWL as LOG 847P at 1815. It returns to BFS from CWL as LOG 844 at 2300.

Annoyingly, they don't say what it's for. It's in their ad hoc charters section.

You may be right about Cardiff City FC as the flight number suggests it's returning from LBA to CWL as a positioning flight. It also appears to have some work between CWL and BFS. Nice bit of business if it is picking up all this work in one outing.

If it is Cardiff City how will they get back?

Be made to walk perhaps, after their dismal performance last Monday.

Re: Movements Log & Heads Up

I can't say I like Cardiff very much Local Yokel - the have beaten us far too often for me to have any concerns about them walking back, but sadly I suspect the Loganair will possibly turn up again on Saturday evening to take them home, or, they will be back to normality and on the coach going back. Had our old Chairman still been in charge at Cardiff, instead of a Loganair Saab, they would probably have chartered a Privatair Boeing 757 complete with cinema!

[offtopic]Heather

Your old chairman is currently acting chairman at Plymouth Argyle who are in administration although he was brought in to broker a rescue which appears to be on track and was in no way responsible for this club's predicament.

However, he recently appeared before Cardiff Magistrates Court on two charges under the Consumer Protection from Unfair Trading Regulations 2008 and one under the fraud in my opinion Act 2006.

It relates to a scheme at Cardiff City a couple of years ago where people were promised a full refund on season tickets if the club was promoted that season to the Premier League with all the money accumulated by the season ticket sales spent on new players to help achieve this aim. In the event no money was spent on new players.

PR denies the charges and will plead 'not guilty'. He certainly leads an interesting life.[/offtopic]

Re: Movements Log & Heads Up

I'm really suprised this has'nt been mentioned yet as a noise complaint or as an a tie up movement.

At 03:50 this morning, Jet2.com's Boeing 757-200, G-LSAG departed of LBA's runway 14 heading for RAF Brize Norton as AEU741P operating a MOD contract for Astraeus agian.

"God it sounded just as loud as last weeks early morning Thomson B767-300 at first until I heard the usual grinding sound of its Rolls Royce RB211 engines."

Grinding! I hope not! Classic droning sound when throttled back from take off power to climb power.

I hope lbaspotter hasn't changed allegiance and joined the swampy club. :dunno: :spiteful: :D

Hi Big-Man where you been? It seems you've been really quite off late on here.

By way I can now confirm that the TNT Airways you saw this morning inbound to LBA was BAe 146-300F OO-TAA from Shannon as TAY1476 and is currently sat at Multiflight.

Also if anyone needed the reg of this afternoon's Thomson Airways charter from Palma, It was operated by Boeing 767-300, G-OBYE.

Re: Movements Log & Heads Up

Hi

I see Huddersfield Town FC are flying out of LBA again this afternoon. It looks like they have chartered a Eastern Airways to take them down south for the First-Leg game of the League 1 play-offs against Bournemouth FC Tomorrow.

EZE840 from Humberside – ETA 14:00
EZE1840 To Bournemouth – ETD 16:05

Re: Movements Log & Heads Up

Can now confirm that the Eastern Airways Charter to Bournemouth is been operated by BAe Jetstream 41, G-MAJG.

Also today's Thomson Airways charter flight from Corfu is currently working inbound to LBA now and is been operated by Boeing 757-200, G-BYAT.

Re: Movements Log & Heads Up

Today (Sat) saw the first of the charter flights from LBA to Naples, operated by a British Airways E190 (I think). It positioned in this morning around 1000, I believe from Glasgow. Hopefully lbaspotter will be able to confirm and provide the aircraft details?

Huddersfield Town's chartered Eastern Airways flight was also due back into LBA this afternoon after their 1-1 play off draw at Bournemouth.

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
