Re: Movements Log & Heads Up

I have a couple of videos of the Lancaster and typhoon I took on my phone will put them on here if someone tells me how to do it

Re: Movements Log & Heads Up

Pop them on Youtube then wrap the Youtube code with the video BBCode.

It will look something like this

Code:

Which shows like this...

Re: Movements Log & Heads Up

The Lancaster took me by suprise and didn't expect it, but as it banked i got a video of it flying down 14, the typhoon i heard call tower when it was 20 miles out and was prepare for it's arrival, good display although it could have gone a bit faster :yahoo:

The spotters you saw within the terminal grounds were Vaterans who have previously flown in the RAF and the Lancaster.

Anything else planned or is that it now???

Re: Movements Log & Heads Up

I was amazed and just how low the Lancaster was when it was circling around today! It didn't seem to be more than 1500feet during the turns!
I'd love to see an airliner do the same sort of maneuver.

Does anyone know why there was one of the coaches parked on November near the intersection of the runway during the displays? There seemed to be a fair few people in fluorescent stood alongside?

Re: Movements Log & Heads Up

And if anyone needs the tie ups of today's Military Movements up at Leeds-Bradford International Airport or should i say RAF Yeadon! Then here you go.

PA474 = BBMF Lancaster-Bomber - (Callsign "Lancaster") from/to RAF Coningsby
ZJ934 = RAF Euro Fighter-Typhoon - (Callsign "Typhoon81") from/to RAF Coningsby

Re: Movements Log & Heads Up

Hi

This weekend will see the start of the outbound Jet2 Hajj charters to Jeddah.

The first one is already showing for Saturday, 22/10/11 as follows:

LS9006 Positions into LBA from Jeddah @ 06:15
LS9701 Departs LBA for Jeddah @ 15:40

Re: Movements Log & Heads Up

Well we have had a damn good week for the military stuff haven't we. Shame we never got the C-17.

Maybe we should try for a proper airshow at some point. Saturday afternoons would be good as they are pretty poor these days.

Re: Movements Log & Heads Up

LBA is an airport and whilst it is nice (for some people) to see the military occasionally, we don't want "quiet Saturday afternoons". Let's increase the core business, we don't want the distraction of an airshow.

Re: Movements Log & Heads Up

:shok: For your interest tonight's TCX tenerife flight is showing a flight time of 3hr 7 minutes from LBA. Is this possible?? Years ago i travelled from MAN on a Tristar in 3hr 20 mins but is 3hrs 7 really possible...... or a ***Please Read Forum Terms of Service*** up on flightradar??

Re: Movements Log & Heads Up

could be a mistake. Unless it's a very strong tailwind. I know when my dad went to tenerife a few year ago with ZB, there time down there was 3 hours 35 minutes.

Hi

Today's lunchtime KLM67N/68K Amsterdam-Leeds-Amsterdam rotations were operated by Embrear 190, PH-EZD.

Thanks for the heads up Lbaspotter.

Re: Movements Log & Heads Up

There were two Ryanair arrivals within 10 minutes of each other this morning, FR11P and FR12P, both from Gerona. I assume that the 'P' suffix indicates both were positioning flights, although the two based FR aircraft seem to have been operating as normal. Does anyone know if the two based aircraft are being changed or why these two aircraft both flew up from Gerona this morning?

I wouldn't be surprised these 2x ryanair aircraft have positioned into here this morning for winter storage. (Parking)

Re: Movements Log & Heads Up

I'm rarely aware of registration numbers but I assumed that the Ryanairs and easyJets rotated their aircraft around their bases, especially bearing in mind the need for servicing from time to time.

However, the comment Does anyone know if the two based aircraft are being changed suggests that aircraft are assigned to particular bases 'for the duration'. Is that the case?

One exception to my lack of knowledge of registrations is the TOM A320 G-OOAR. This used to be seen regularly at Bristol and last year was down at Exeter for a while - relatives of mine used it from there to the Canaries. I thought someone at the company had a nice sense of humour.

Re: Movements Log & Heads Up

Just to enlighten people on the 2 Ryanair's. When I arrived from AGP this afternoon on Jet2 I saw that there were 2 Ryanair's on stands 19 and 21. It looks like this could be for winter storage, and also good if LBA is suddenly a B737 short...!

Likewise regarding remembering the registrations, however I do recall Airtours using an aircraft at LBA with the registration G-PIDS and everybody at the airport nick named it 'passengers in deep sh*t' because it was always going tech.

Birmingham, Leeds and Stansted are being used for winter storage and base rotation.

Whilst this is good for the airport coffers, not so good for spotters, as stands taken up by Ryanairs static display team mean less stands to accept diverts over the winter (now becoming an inevitable event lol)

Our neighbour used to be a 757 pilot for MyTravel, as with all the aicraft on a ground handling basis, they are referred to by their last two letter of the reg - G-LSAB as 'Alpha Bravo' for example. He used to refer to G-PIDS as "Dog Sh*t"! I remember him saying it was only the 5th 757 built or something along those lines? I have got to say I think it was bar far the best looking 757 in the world!

Re: Movements Log & Heads Up

G-LSAG is known as

"G-SLAG" amongst many many Jet2 staff I've heard & seen them calling her/him(you choose) that.

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
