I see on the LBA spotting website there is a picture of a Cathay 747 cargo, was that at LBIA??

No that picture was not taken at LBA. In fact i was taken by someone who was at MAN and it has been uploaded and added into the Photo Gallery within the the website. Check out the photo's in the gallery using the following link for more details. http://www.lbaspotters.net/apps/photos/

Hope that helps.

Monarch's new A320, G-ZBAA is now on her way to her new LBA home positioning up from LTN as MON572P. She should be here for around 12 mid day...

Will anyone be taking any pics when it gets here as FR24 is still showing it in Airbus colours?

Its 100% definite in Monarch colours.

When no photo's are in the database, iFR24 shows the aircraft in 'house' colours.

A320, G-ZBAA is in full Monarch Airlines livery and has been parked on stand 13.

Meanwhile British Airways, A319, G-DBCD inbound now on the SHT1346 has just reported a smell of burning in the Cabin and is been vectored in for an approach to runway 14. Manchester based Engineer's have also been requested to attend so they'll be a lengthly delay to the outbound SHT1347 I guess...

There are photos of the new Monarch A320 in its full livery if you google it. I just entered 'Monarch A320 with Sharklets' and there are several photos of it, presumably down at LTN

This picture was on the Daily Mail website.

Anyone know why the jet2 75 (G-LSAN) is at Leeds and Glasgow are using G-LSAB?
Is G-LSAN maybe getting prepped to be based in Alicante?

I do not know the answer to your original question about AB / AN but my understanding is that Alicante is going to be a Boeing 737 only base.

Also on the departures board, there was LS 051B to Leeds Bradford leaving at 07:00 and returning 40 mins later. Anyone know why?

The LS51B service should have been a engineering test flight for Boeing 737-300, G-GDFH which has been sat over at Multiflight since it was ferried from Bournemouth the earlier this week.

Going back to 12 July last year this was posted on the forum.

However the archived movements (on lbaspotters website) suggest that it was G-CELU that operated that test flight.

Which is likely to be correct?

I can confirm that the EXS051B test flight on July 12th, 2012 was operated by Boeing 737-300 G-CELU, As i had it logged @ 06:58 GMT.

Boeing 737-300 G-GDFH remained sat at LBA over in the Multiflight hangar as it needed some attention as defect was picked up with the airframe. This repair should have been picked while it was having it's c-check in Belgrade but wasn't.

I noticed this Jet 2 callsign on Radar 24 twice on the last two days It departed from Manchester climbing to a high flight level over the north sea, then back to Manchester. Last night it did the same but held in a race track around Newcastle and then landed at Lbia. So it would seem whatever the technical problem is requires another test flight today.
I have forgotten the registration but it was one in the sequence G-GDF? It is just starting up so I will check the registration as it taxis past my house.

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
