User001, do you think this has got something to do with hainan as many people think it does? What's your opinion?

Well, it s to do with Hainan in that its owned by Hainan Airlines.

Other than that, its just a movement of livestock to rural China (hence the obscure destination, I wonder if MAN will go and shout from the rooftops that this is the first UK-Hohhot flight?).

It will have nothing to do with Hainan, they wont put the top officials (to announce a flight) on a cargo aircraft.

Hainan top brass will com via Brussels or private jet.

Exactly correct that's what I was thinking as I don't think brass would come via anywere or even on a crappy cargo flight!

A great night shot from Ben Shaw

Yangtzee River B747, Etihad B77W, and 2x Jet2 B757.

Well, livestock movements seem to be every 1-2 years.

China Southern ran the last 2, using a ex-Great Wall B747 in 2011 and their own B747 in 2012. Therefore hard to say who will run the next one if needed.

Anyway, not like the Hainan livery will be rare next year.

Manchester has been blessed with some cracking movements this year.

Next one up is Saturday, where we see a Kenyan Airlines B737-800 passing through on delivery.

KQ738 arrives 0950 from KEF, departs 2250 to CAI.

Reg is 5Y-CYA which had its first flight on the 1st October.

VP-CKS A318CJ due 0850
5Y-CYA B737-800 Kenya Airlines due 0950
G-VNEW B787-900 Virgin Atlantic due 1620 and again at 1800
HZ-AK13 B777-300ER Saudia 0830

Not a bad day tomorrow.

Can you plan these for my next visit.....? :D

Also visiting today is new BA A320 G-EUYY, a new Etihad B77W and only the second visit to MAN of Emirates B77W A6-ECX.

Manchester resident Gainjet B757-200 SX-RFA is finally making a return home, arriving at 1430.

Swiss used A321 HB-IOF this morning.

Swiss have certainly gone a bit bunkers with capacity ex-MAN recently. Some days is the Avro100, some days the Helvetica F100, and now an A321.

Virgin Atlantic B787-900 is coming back to MAN for crew training from tomorrow.

Also, 14th sees the mighty AN-124 make a visit, night shopping on the way to the USA.

Air Cairo (the low cost leisure arm of Egyptair) will run a flight to Sharma El Sheikh tomorrow.

MSC5511 arrives 1515
MSC5512 departs 1415

A320 operates. May be in again next week too.

Saudia today was B773 HZ-AKN which is an extremely rare visitor to Europe.

As far as I remember it was a 777-200er not 773?
Please correct me if I'm wrong?

It was indeed a B772.

You may have to forgive some of my posts, as it seems my tablet has now taken upon itself to change some things I type.

For example It keeps changing you to Yu, 2nd to 22nd and B772 to B773. I'm not quite sure why its doing it or how to switch it off. I will try my best to proof read, but, please just be aware if something isn't quite right, such as a date, its not an intentional mistake.

Regards

All checked in for my flight to Sydney from Manchester via Heathrow. Been waiting for this trip for nearly a year and now tomorrow I'll finally head to Australia and New Zealand!
If anyone would like to share their local airport news right here in our news area let me know so I can give you the correct permissions to do so. It only takes a couple of minutes to upload a news story with an accompanying image. The news items can then be shared on the site homepage by you. #TakePart #Forums4airports Bring the news to one place!
survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
