Turkmenistan were +95% in March with their best Birmingham monthly figure ever.

Seems as if they are holding their own :)
I'm delighted to read of Turkmenistan's recent turnaround.
They have been loyal to BHX for many years, but the last cople of years has seen a slow decline in pax numbers. I don't know what's changed, but great to see them achieving record figures(y)
I hope they continue having a long and prosperous future at BHX.

86% load factor on the combined inbounds yesterday.

When you think that the Saturday Amritsar has only been on sale for a couple of weeks that's very impressive.
I've just been doing some sums on last Saturday's AI figures :geek:.
At a combined 86% load factor and we hypothesise that AI117 was full that would give AI113 a load of -

((256 x 2) x 0.86) - 256 = 184.3 PAX

184.3/256 x 100 = 72% LF

Please don't ask about the '0.3' passenger. It's just how the maths works.

Another fact to ponder is that the two AI 787-8's provide a total of 512 seats. Thats still 103 less than one EK A380 :jawdrop:

My source says the loads were

DEL = 233 but only 79 outbound
ATQ = 209 but only 48 outbound

But I dont always trust some of the outbound numbers but we are now moving into monsoon season so they be right ?
Thanks Ian

My calculations were purely hypthetical, based on the only figure (86% LF) that I had.
I wondered what would be the LF of one flight if the other was full.

Regards

Kevin

There must have been some good tailwinds today, as both AI113 and AI117 arrived an hour early.
I wonder if that caused the airport a headache?
I would hope not. An Airport with almost 13m passengers and ambitions to vastly increase this being caused a headache by a couple of aircraft with passenger loads not much more than a couple of full 737's landing a bit early?

I was thinking more along the lines of stand assignment than terminal/baggage handling capabilities.
I suppose that the handling agents would have known of the early arrivals long before they arrived, but this could have still required some juggling of stands.

Anybody free to tune in from 11 am tomorrow?

Was the ATQ flight cancelled yesterday? Only saw one Air India on FR24 yesterday and i checked twice during my long 9 hours at work :D

Air India going 2 times a day from June with the 787 TUE THU SAT to Amritsar and Delhi

any news on the increase to Delhi on Tuesdays & Thursdays? Nothing showing as bookable yet, is it still going to happen? Certainly not going to be June, have Air India had a change of heart?

Amritsar flight non-ops again today, should be back next Saturday??

Air India have said that they are to reduce/cut some European routes with the lower load factors and move the capacity towards the east.

Birmingham has some tremendous load factors but despite that isn't it just our luck that we'll still end up seeing some cuts

If we go by one of our ex poster on here MAN are close to agreeing 3 Or 4 weekly service with Air India to Delhi. That may be enough reason not to increase our flights.

No User001 has posted on his twitter feed that Air India could be close to announcing MAN-DEL for W18/19... will have to wait and see on this one!

This is what exactly was posted.

MAN is understood to be close to securing a 3 weekly Delhi link with Air India, after assuring the board a service would not affect LHR/BHX loadings.

All checked in for my flight to Sydney from Manchester via Heathrow. Been waiting for this trip for nearly a year and now tomorrow I'll finally head to Australia and New Zealand!

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
