I still don’t understand your logic here and personally believe you’re wrong and very much hope you're wrong.

Air Indigo has 0 currently Long-haul Planes in their fleet and have circa 129 on order, a mix between Airbus 321XLR and Airbus A350. They are a low-cost model meaning pretty basic service but unlike other low-cost airlines they do offer connections which means they can at least offer a connecting hub approach.

Air India has an existing long-haul fleet of 65 aircraft which will more than double to 137 once deliveries are complete. They have a lot of more aircraft under option also and have aspirations to be a global international airline.

To suggest that “Indigo will be the future airline of India and that Air India will then digress sadly”… is frankly ludicrous and unrealistic. That’s like saying Easyjet will be THE future airline of the UK and British Airways with digress. Clearly this is not the case. They compete on some elements and not on others. There are markets for both and will always continue to be. And that’s in a UK market with a population of circa 80 million people…

In contrast, India has a population of 1.4 BILLION!, THAT’S OVER 17X BIGGER THAN THE UK. India will be able to sustain numerous airlines, and I think Air India has a massive role to play.

Air India has a long way to go, and I wish indigo well servicing the low-cost market… but I think Air India has a massive amount of untapped potential and look forward to seeing them grow at BHX.
I meant Air India and Indigo will be the two top Asian airlines in the world by 2040 and that’s my prediction

Can I not have an opinion or do you just hate me?

Admit it mate
What do you base your opinions on Ant? Why Indigo and not Air India? Why 2040? Before you say why not 2040 or Indigo over Air India....can you back these opinions up? This is where people are questioning you. It comes across like you fling information out there without any information to back yourself up...almost like a dartboard whilst wearing a blindfold.
If you're going to do this, then expect some blowback from the people who've been following aviation for decades and probably know a lot more than you about it.
Anyone can have an opinion...just because they question you on yours and how you came to your answer, doesn't mean they hate you 👍

So how can back this up.Lets look at this way if your for example flying Lets say LHR-BOM with AI ur looking at around £850-900 mark with MAN-BOM its £270 with Indigo this in December.
Alright maybe I didn’t mean 2040 maybe I meant 2030-2035 for global expansion.Indigo are the low cost carrier of India essentially the Ryanair of India.
They are to start receiving A350-900/1000 family in 2 years time. They’ve already ordered 30 and are expecting to order another 40 more A350s.
Indigo have already made a mark at Amsterdam and Manchester expanding to Mumbai.Manchester is expected to start Delhi very soon. They even want to expand to Scandinavian cities,London,Paris,New York the long variant destinations.
Indigo are expecting A321XLR aircraft aswell.
Look at AI.Most of their aircraft even before the crash were stored or being refurbished or in maintenance.AI are in absolute dire straits

This is an example of me saying why can’t we give indigo a try in a couple of years time?

I think that is good piece of evidence.

Two or three new international routes does not make a global Indian airline. As Neil wrote...in a country the size of India there is room for a lot more. Don't think for one minute Air India will sit on it's laurels watching Indigo sweep up long haul routes. They have a turn around programme in place and will make good on it.
Remember, wanting to expand into new countries and start new routes is one thing...doing it is an entirely different animal. Air India has been doing it for decades... admittedly not so brilliantly, but I bet you a dime to a dollar they'll still be around in another 50 years.

Air India have reduced frequencies on London and Birmingham routes and closed Gatwick bookings.
Like I mentioned earlier AI are in absolute shambles ATM.
I am saying they’ll merge with Indigo soon probably 5-10 years.

The one you said that will happen in yor post in 5-10 years

Calm down BA, I don't even know you. Hating someone I don't even know sounds way too exhausting...

I'm merely stating that what you say in one message doesn't relate to what you say in another. You are totally fine to have an opinion, but everyone else is also fine to challenge them. If you state an opinion without any grounding, evidence, sourcing or context, that's your prerogative.

Anyway, shall we get back to discussing Air India?!

Absolutely.

But full flights don't always equal profitable flights.

Anyone can fill an aircraft on pretty much any route, it's making a profit that counts. Hopefully they've got their yield management right.

All checked in for my flight to Sydney from Manchester via Heathrow. Been waiting for this trip for nearly a year and now tomorrow I'll finally head to Australia and New Zealand!

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
