Discussions relating to Liverpool Airport
I love the automated announcements at the Spanish airports. They're usually done in English and the language at the destination airport. Is it the same at LPL?
Only English here, so far anyway. I travel through the airport frequently, so I think this new system is pretty new. I'm watching my time as I do this, my flight is at 14.10 !

I also used to like the old fashioned indicator display systems which used to flick round at speed. You saw them at airports and train stations. Something about the sound and movement they created. Bit geaking that I suppose !!!

I have to admit to liking those too and I'm sure Leeds City Station has moved away from the large plasma screens back to something similar to that. I might be wrong.
Anyway, why not foreign languages? That's something the really annoys me about the UK, We are so inward looking and expect everyone to speak English, which of course many do but still, we should make for of an effort.

I agree with you, now you mentioned it re the languages, I may get a message to someone because the UK is very poor on such things. Even on trains on the continent you will get English announcements .

They used to have those clatter board destination screen at Liverpool Lime Street, but not anymore , all digital, it's just not the same. I think those types of screens just had a feeling of ' travel ' ...well did to me.

Passing through the airport today. A lot of construction going on in departures . Obviously do the work now during quieter period of the year. Also work being carried out in security. Hasn't delayed me in my passage through terminal .

I travelled through the airport yesterday early morning, which was my first experience of the new security machine arrangement. The airport was busy and I thought it would take a while to get through the search, but no, was done in 10-15 mins. No one taking liquids out of their bags did seem to make the process easier.

Went to Milan today, and used FR's self service check in for the first time
Seemed pretty easy, to weigh bag and tag it, then send it down the conveyor. Not good for check in staff id imagine !

If you are able bodied use Liverpool without a shadow of a doubt..They really are very good indeed..Highly recommended..
However if you are disabled and need assistance go elsewhere, they are inconsiderate and useless..been there a few times and never get any better..Management couldn't give a monkeys..all about saving money..Leeds are very good at that, but they are in house,Liverpool are poor quality contractors..

But they have just been awarded ' very good' for assistance travel very recently by the CAA Paul. I did ask a number of people at a meeting who use this service regularly and they were very surprised by your experience. I think you have been unlucky.

Heads Up!

For some weird reason, my days off work tend to involve being out of my flat by 5am and not getting back until 10pm. Back to work and the regular "fix" of 7.40am to 7.15pm hours
Heatwave Mk2 next week?
Some explosive weather build-ups currently in the North of England. What is it like where you are?

I don't believe I am quite covering enough roles at work. Its now 4 on a bad day, 5 on a good day and there is scope for a 6th and 7th role. Still on minimum pay but had the biggest payrise in the company,
