Lovely Icelandair colour scheme but that taxiway corner looks tight for the B777, let alone an A380/A340. Why didn't they widen it further? Perhaps there are plans to do so?

It was said on here recently that widening may take place during the November night closures.

I love all the different colours and I didn't know OO-VLP was still in Vizion livery (are they still operational?!).

Few pics from a very foggy Monday morning. Was just about able to see the Elmdon apron but most of the new terminal stands were invisible for most of the day.The AI 777 and 757 F-HCIE were not graphed unfortunately.

I love those pictures, to me far more evocative than glossy pics on a bright summer's day (not that I don't like that type of pic too).

Today's pics show a working airport 'in the raw'. When I visit a city I've not been to before I often stray from the tourist locations to discover the 'ordinary' areas which is what cities (and airports) are all about so far as I'm concerned.

Hi all,few pictures from last Tuesday 24th.Main reason of visit was first visit of Wizzair A321 which landed just before sunset!

Fantastic pictures as always, thanks for posting them :hatsoff:

Did you happen to notice if the viewing area is still closed off?

Loving the Antonov pics, are they regulars at the airport?

Yes, it's not unusual for us to get two or three in one day.

Where do you take your shots from?

The TUIfly 767 was from the Long Stay car park it looks like. The Antonov aircraft are on the Elmdon (western) apron although I haven't been to the Elmdon buildings and don't know the location.

Hi all, thanks for the comments on the pics. They are taken from the top floor of the MSCP on the Elmdon side for the Antonov`s.Bottom 2 floor for car parking all floors OK on foot.Others as said from the long stay car park, rear part is now fenced off next to 33 sierra holding point, but landing shots OK if you stand back from the perimeter fence.Went past the viewing area today and there were 2 diggers excavating a large hole with several large sections of pipe nearby and several drainage channels also being dug.So it looks like repairs are in hand.Regards,simon.

All checked in for my flight to Sydney from Manchester via Heathrow. Been waiting for this trip for nearly a year and now tomorrow I'll finally head to Australia and New Zealand!

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
