Let's hope Etihad liked what they saw and report back to HQ about starting a daily flight!!! Trying to remember when we last had Etihad in...

Surprised both Singapore's went to Heathrow but I guess that is their diversion airport of choice - surprised only in the fact of one went round in circles for a while only to divert at Heathrow's busiest time of the morning and probably went into the hold to get into there too.

Whatever the Company, it just wants to land its passengers safely and as expediently as feasible. There is no time for analysis of “what if”. When investigating potential routes, the fact that a certain airport was once used for a diversion never forms part of the narrative.

Tompo is right. The crew will be irritated about diverting, keen to complete the journey, not marvelling at the wonders of their diversion airport. Besides, crew have absolutely no contact with route planning staff, whose job is based entirely on considering research about potential passenger numbers on a route.

Air Asia X might not have enjoyed their diversion experience, but that is not likely to be the reason it never served BHX.

Two Bristol diversions this afternoon TUI 738M from Skiathos and A320 of EasyJet from Inverness.

Something to do with a fire alarm going off in the BRS tower requiring evacuation according to a post by Red Flyer on the CWL forum.

lots of delays at Birmingham yesterday (27th June):-

47 flights departures 1 hour or more late, (LS1283 RHO delayed until 10:00 tomorrow 17hours late), 5 were cancelled, 1 flight from the day before (TOM7336 TFS, departed 20 hours late on a B789 instead of a B738), so out of 146 scheduled departures, only 94 got away less than an hour late.

so thats 32% of all departures were 1 or more hours late. Do we know why? Airport issues, or ATC slot issues?

6 cancellations
Turkish 16.40 flight turned up 4 hours late
Ryanair to Budapest was heavily delayed and still is heavily delayed by until 1am which is 6 hours delay now.

Combination I think BHX had its usual morning security pantomime yesterday but looking at the LBA foruum a lot of slot delays for them exasperated by a planned runway closure

Still some delays currently showing for Tui and Jet2 of 2hrs plus on four flights with Jet2 Paphos having a 17hr delay now due in 19:25 tonight. LH early morning Frankfurt shows cancelled.

All taken off the airport website.

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
