seems to have gone un-noticed today, but we saw 2 Qatar 787s at Brum today!

QR323 DOH-CWL B787 A7-BDA diverted in at 07:00 this morning, presumably bad weather at Cardiff.

Looking at FR24 it seems to have operated back to Doha directly from Birmingham rather than positioning back to Cardiff.

A couple of Birmingham based A321's obviously dont want to come home!

MT1427 stuck in Kefalonina, G-TCDY showing a 28 hour delay, tech??

LS1202 from Arrecife, YL-LCV, delayed by 17 hours, tech as well??

The A321 of YL-LCV often seems delayed, Jet2 cant be happy, especially as their 737s seem reliable, is the age or condition of YL-LCV an issue?

An AOG (Aircraft On Ground) tech problem can sometimes be caused by something we might think is trivial such a lamp not working but if it's something they don't carry as spare on board and the assigned engineer at the airport doesn't have one either, then they will have to wait for the part to be shipped in.

EI-FHD operating KEF to MAD has diverted in with fire crews in attendance, hopefully just as a precaution.

After holding a TOM 757 (MAH) has gone to EMA with a TOM 737 (AHO) and a Ryanair (ALC) heading straigh there behind it. There are a couple of Jet2 and a few others still holding and a NAX 787-900 (LN-LNK) on it's way from CPH.

It diverted in around 13:15 and BHX is still closed.

Flybe from Knock looks to have turned back and a Jet2 from Reus is now heading east. The Norwegian 787 also turned right somewhere by Liverpool and is heading north.

I'm sitting on a Flybe flight at Paris wondering when we will be allowed to take off. Should have been airborne at 14.50 local time.

Looks like that Knock flight is diverting to EMA.

I beleive the aircraft is stranded on the Birmingham runway, with a hydraulic leak, fire services have covered the wheels in foam to cool them down.

I suspect the airport will be closed for a few more hours, flights diverting to MAN, EMA and STN so far.

I'm just glad that they managed to land safely and everyone is well.

Been told landing gear collapse.
Could be hours.

If that is the case it could be quite a while to recover it and potentially do any repairs that the runway may need.

From the airport website.

Runway Temporarily Closed

Birmingham Airport can confirm that the D86241 landed safely with 152 crew and passengers on board. Birmingham Airport’s fire service is in attendance as a precautionary measure. Runway temporarily closed. If you are travelling today please check the arrivals/departures page of the Birmingham Airport website or with your airline.

The D86241 from Reykjavik to Madrid was diverted in to Birmingham Airport due to a hydraulic issue. Passengers and crew have been taken to the terminal where they are being assisted by Birmingham Airport. Runway remains temporarily closed.

LN-LNK is still holding above Manchester at 27,000', Flybe from Salzburg is heading to Cardiff, Turkish has gone overhead at 38,000'. Possibly Dublin? Blue Air looks as if it's heading to Luton.

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
