I think they are not diverting now because they are running late.
 
Waiting for my flight to Faro after getting through security in 15 minutes.

Now watching a big hoo-ha for an Easyjet flight to Bauvais: seven denied boarding, four police at the gate...

Something has gone wrong big-time.

Anyone any information. Plane still on stand long after departure deadline.
 
My apologies if I got the airline wrong but from where I was stood at the far end and the left hand side of the main terminal, all I could see was a Easyjet plane parked outside and below the checking in desk.

And the complainants were speaking French.

But as to the earlier part of my post, with fast track check-in, everything worked perfectly yesterday.

The only downside was that fast track was not signposted that well and some people who ended there by mistake, had to be sent back....

It was interesting to note that as I arrived at security, it was very busy but after about five minutes (because of the gradual passage of people through the system) the queue had shortened considerably.

But, as I suspect, after another train had arrived at Birmingham International and the shuttle had ferried them to the airport the queue lengthened again considerably.

But as we know, we are British and queueing is part of our DNA, not so the French....kkk
 
actually adding to my previous post, I had heard that due to staff shortages in BHX ATC, the airport was closed between 1am and 3am this morning, which might explain why the Ryanair flight was showing as arriving at EMA, but it managed to beat the 1am curfew.

all the arrivals between 01:00 & 03:00 were all delayed till after 03:00:-

Correct, it was the same the night before but 2am-4am with quite a few arrivals in a short space of time, a tui diverted to EMA the night before. It doesn't help the likes of p*ssport, cleaners or engineers when they have 5+ or so aircraft drop in near enough the same time on now shorter turnaround times as well as the pax who will have to wait to disembark, pass immigration and baggage reclaim etc. I hope the controller enjoyed his break.

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.

Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.

15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
