Stansted likely to be CAT1 for a week or so, due to a Gulf 5 taking out some ILS equipment. However BHX was just lucky this morning, as it too is CAT1 but had no fog.

Possible disruption this morning with only cat I available and fog around.

BHX TAF: EGBB 110750Z 17008KT 0800 R33/P1500 FG OVC002

Edit: Improvement now with visibility of 3000m as of 09:50.

Well it seems like the Tardis airport that is BHX has mopped up the widebody diverts yet again.

BA256 G-CIVL, PK787 AP-BGK and BA457 G-BNWZ all inbound to BHX.

Maeanwhile MAN gets the piddly eurojets. Great!

When I woke up this morning and saw the fog I expected a few to be diverting away from BHX but it seems everything got in OK. BA B744 G-CIVL and B772 AP-BGK have both departed back to Heathrow, B763 G-BNWZ is currently parked on remote stand 25, there's not much activity around it so it could be in for the night.

With Fly Dubai arriving this morning, SAS sending an A321 and an A320, more Lufthansa A321's and the above diverts it will have been a good day for the local spotters.

Would have been a good day for local spotters - I expect the inevitable report on BHX Flight Guide!

Nice to see a B747 there though. Looks like BHX was unaffected though despite there being a matter of fog here this morning.

Looks as if Monarch are having a few issues today, A300 G-MAJS positioned in from Gatwick to operate the Rome flight, it was due to leave at 15:00 but departed at 17:36, MON 4625 from Kittila was expected back at 14:00 but is now showing due at 20:45.

Well the Kittila-BHX flight ended up being Rovaneimi-Aberdeen diverting to ABZ as the crew were out of hours (it diverted to ROV on the outbound leg). 757 G-DAJB positioned in about an hour ago presumably to cover for the A321 now in Scotland.

We had a few diverts in from Bristol today, a couple of Easyjet, a Ryanair and an Aer Lingus Regional I think. Also UAE9 A6-ECR diverted in from Gatwick around 19:20.

It was two easyJets and one Ryanair, but there were two Aer Lingus Regionals diverted from BRS (one from DUB the other from ORK). Two easyJets also went to CWL and one to STN from BRS.

The heavy rain and gales are now back around Bristol - having had a lull since mid afternoon - and there are still 10 easyJets due in this evening at BRS with the one from Madrid currently holding overhead. Also a Ryanair and a Thomson yet to land this evening. So BHX (and CWL) might get some more diversions this evening if conditions don't improve.

easyJet from Belfast Int and Ryanair from Alicante for BRS just been diverted to BHX.

Watching FR24 and a Ryanair ALC-BRS is on finals to BHX with an Easyjet A320 from BFS to BRS behind it. Another Easyjet A320 from MAD-BRS is also heading north currently over west Birmingham and the Easyjet from SXF is now heading up.

Thomson seems to be holding at the moment.

Must be problems at CWL because that's the first alternate for easyJets into BRS normally. Ryanair though always go to BHX if diverted at BRS.

Thomson looks like it's going to Cardiff. The Easyjets from CDG and AMS look to be holding?

It's wet and windy here but must be horrendous down there.

easyJet from CDG to BRS now diverting to BHX according to BRS arrivals page

Easyjet from AMS is just behind it also a Thomas Cook 757, G-TCBC, diverted up from Gatwick. The BA 763 is from ARN.

I can't keep up. :whiteflag:

Off to bed now. Have a great Christmas, Ray.

Another Easyjet A320 this time from Gatwick, BHX must be filling up now, an Austrian diverted from LHR to MAN and another Easyjet went from LGW to LPL.

All checked in for my flight to Sydney from Manchester via Heathrow. Been waiting for this trip for nearly a year and now tomorrow I'll finally head to Australia and New Zealand!

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
