Well it has been a Q400 in previous years when Flybe operated it.Is it going to be a Q400? May well be an E jet.

However it's very much a business orientated route
If they carry the passengers Jet2 did, most flights on a Dash 8 will be pretty full. My only worry is there is still a perception among some people that propellor power equals old outdated aircraft and therefore to be avoided. I have already had to persuade a friend who flies to DUS regularly with Jet2 to travel on the Flybe service from LBA when her first instinct was to go over to MAN and fly on a 'proper' plane. Fortunately, she is giving it a go, encouraged also by the good departure and arrival times offered .
Also they have a very good relationship with Air France for long and short haul connections. As Flybe the nominated carrier for Disneyland Paris, would make sense for a LBA to CDG service to be operated. Booking Disneyland tickets recently could fly from basically every northern airport except LBA.
If Jet2 are going to drop the city routes like Dusseldorf and possibly Amsterdam and Paris then they would be ideal routes for Flybe to take over. The airport issued the following press release this morning regards Flybe's winter 2017/18 schedule.

Most interesting part is the following statement made by the Airports Aviation Development Director, Chris Sanders.
“This latest service from Leeds Bradford Airport is an indication of the intention we have to strengthen our route offering and increase international connectivity for Yorkshire.”
