Not really for whipper snappers I suppose, the Brownie was great just point and press the button and wind the film on to the next frame when done take it to the chemists to get it developed so you could seen your crap photos that you had taken .
Days of your life.

I'm sure that many of us here wish you still had themWish I still had my Brum photo collection from the many many visits I used to make, Im sure I had a couple of thousand all nice and tidy in those sticky back cling film cover foto albums, alas gone.

Yep I was at the drome almost every day (well nearly) from 1975 to about 2000 with less frequency later, I used quite a few different cameras from from a Halina to a Canon EOS 650 slr, looking back went through the shere excitement of diversion days and the footy charters and biz jet days due to the NEC, and the Mil charters we had, and the often dull days standing on the spiral steps, on the grass bank down the golf course, in the different viewing areas or on the new side long stay grass bank.I'm sure that many of us here wish you still had them. Would have loved to have seen them.
Regards
Kevin
I miss those days too. I used to go to the very same places. I also remember watching the diversions. I can remember sitting on the grass bank at the golf course on a lovely summers day (I recall Manchester Fire service were on strike) and seeing amongst others a Kar-Air DC-8 divert in. I can also remember the same location (I'm not sure it was the same day, but great weather) and Lufthansa's Junkers 52 was transiting the zone. ATC aksed 'erm..any chance of a flypast?' to which the answer was 'yes sir'. I took some photos, which I'm sure I still have but will take some digging out.Yep I was at the drome almost every day (well nearly) from 1975 to about 2000 with less frequency later, I used quite a few different cameras from from a Halina to a Canon EOS 650 slr, looking back went through the shere excitement of diversion days and the footy charters and biz jet days due to the NEC, and the Mil charters we had, and the often dull days standing on the spiral steps, on the grass bank down the golf course, in the different viewing areas or on the new side long stay grass bank.

Ray, please move these last few posts to 'Random Stuff' or 'Nostalgia at BHX', if you think appropriate.
Sorry, E. I wasn't casting any blame. There is absolutely nothing wrong with going off topic. I think that you have brought up a very interesting subject, which brings back many happy memories for me. From your post, I think we must have been at BHX on the same occasions many times. I was just asking Ray to move the discussion to a more appropriate section where we could continue. I have may other memories and would be interested to know if you were at BHX at the same time.Yep agreed - we went slightly off topic (my fault)
E.
Occasions when I was at Elmdon and the new side were - When we had the first 747 (Qantas) also when we had the first concorde the Air France one, I was down at the viewing area on the grass near the Warwickshire Aero Club building, then all those great weather diversions 79,80,81,82,83 I was on the spiral or on the cov road near the crash gate across the road from the chippy, I was on the spiral that day when Lady Diana flew in off a RAF 748 and was greeted by the lord mayor outside hangar 1 (I had a photo I took but now gone)Sorry, E.
