I remember it well, including the BBC broadcast. I regularly used the MAGLEV across to the NEC. Also, I loved flying on the One-Elevens, but also flew on Netherlines Saab 340, NLM F-28 and Emirates A330 form/to BHX. I loved the spotters lounge and spent far too much of my time in there. Such a shame that it's gone, but it's popularity declined when the terminal was extended in front of it, limiting the views of the parked aircraft. I also flew from/to the old terminal, on Britannia B737-200s. and BA Viscounts. Can’t believe it’s been over 40 years since bhx came official
Nice to see Monarch and Flybe on those pics. Sadly missed Airlines, and big supporters of BHX. At least Jet2, EasyJet and Ryanair have stepped up their presence since.Feels odd putting something from 2014 in the nostalgia section but 10 years ago today saw the opening of the runway extension.
Wow!. That 10 years has gone so quickly!.
