I flew up on the BA1340 this morning after my flight from EZE. 100 on board with the Club Europe cabin full as I boarded...curtain behind row 5.

Good to hear. Just to note that since the CE cabin size is actively adjusted from the point the flight is open for booking at 355 days until the day of the flight itself, and can be all the way to row 9, it will usually appear relatively full if the algorithms are correct. Certainly the loads have got better since the reductions over a year ago and seem to run now in the range 70-90% every month.

Loads are not really bad then and having a full Club Europe will please BA as quiet simply it gives them significantly more money for a blocked seat!

Each CE passenger essentially gets 1/2 a blocked seat, in every row A & C and D & F are sold, with middle seats B and D not sold with a small table instead.

I honestly don't know the figures, but certainly it's entirely possible that those booking late in to economy could well be paying multiples more for their base fare than those who booked club a few months before. Add in apportionment of revenue between flights in a booking when you are selling the domestic with a connection and it gets even more complicated - certainly beyond what I can understand!

Ironically you will sometimes find that the fare to include a connecting flight is the same as for the main leg of the journey. Sometimes, and weirdly, even cheaper. Air Fares are a very very complex beast and it's hard enough getting new staff to understand them straight away, let alone trying to explain them on a forum. Or is it me trying to pretend I am knowledgeable on the subject! There are genuinely so many factors to take into account when calculating an Air Fare.

Quite the opposite for me on this trip Fingers 66. I paid just over £600 for LHR-EZE-LHR. It was going to be £840 for LBA-LHR-EZE-LHR-LBA. So I just added the LHR-LBA flights after for £55. Only negative was when I was checking in in Buenos Aires on Wednesday they wouldn’t tag my bag to LBA, even though it was BA to BA. Seeing as I had 3 hours in LHR it wasn’t a problem and I was back airside at T5 within the hour.

Absolutely proves the point over air fares. Whilst there is a consistency in the way they are calculated there is complete inconsistency in why they are sometimes cheaper, sometimes the same and sometimes more expensive when you add in an extra leg. The gist is its basically about supply and demand between A and B. If there is seen to be a differing demand from A to C, which may have to route via B, then that could impact the level of fares sold. Feel we are perhaps a little off topic to some degree as this is the BA thread, although as they do rely on a lot of connecting traffic it is relevant. Going back to BA it is pleasing to hear they are achieving some good load factors now, so let's hope the yield is good too. Probably still no chance of an improved service frequency, so let's be thankful we still have the service at all and also lets hope the A320s do appear this winter to hopefully increase pax numbers further.

I've been at Manchester Airport over the last 24 hours and I've seen very little of British Airways. Just two A319s so far. What a difference from the days of multiple 757s, plus the British Midland Heathrow services.

I think years back they may have used even Tristars at times, might be wrong. Plus those were the days British Midland also had LBA and LPL to LHR full service.

I am bit unsure about how you managed to only see two BA aircraft at MAN over the last 24 hours? Since 0800 on Friday there have been 5 arrivals from LHR and 5 departures to LHR. There have also been 2 arrivals and 2 departures to BLL with the Sunair franchise which are in BA livery.

I was keeping out of the rain ! This morning I've been on the car park roof at Terminal 1 for well over an hour and no British Airways, unless I've missed them. I just remember when there would often be two Airbuses or 757s on stand at once. Maybe my perception is off kilter.

Okay this dose not effect Leeds/Bradford but it might be worth reading.
British Airways has today put on sale a series of one-off schedule Boeing 747-400 UK domestic flights. On Sunday, August 25th 2019 the airline will celebrate its official 100th birthday and for which will see the 3 retro liveried Boeing 747-400 Jets operate 1 round trip each out of London Heathrow to either Manchester, Newcastle & Glasgow as follows.

BA1326 = LHR 09:20 - NCL 10:35 / BA1237 = NCL 12:40 - LHR 14:00
BA1386 = LHR 10:10 - MAN 11:20 / BA1391 = MAN 12:50 - LHR 14:00
BA1482 = LHR 12:00 - GLA 13:30 / BA1487 = GLA 15:00 - LHR 16:25

The seats are selling like hot cakes, But I've just managed grab a seat on the BA1237 from Newcastle to Heathrow service for a reasonable price using my left over Avios Points.

I would have liked to do that, but just booked to go to Belfast over that weekend.

Agree 100% Bigman........and the answer is probably a big big discount.
Given the tarnished reputation of Boeing and the Max, an order from a respected big player such as IAG for the aircraft showing faith in it would be worth it’s weight in gold to restore some confidence and well worth offering a massive discount. Boeing’s shares rose nearly 3% after the announcement.

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
