Not to be too pedantic, shouldn't the dates for the competition be Sunday 9th and Monday 10th?

Correct Me If I'm wrong but is G-DBCD The Firefly livery? And is it coming into LBA?

No Sorry the firefly A319 was G-EUPC. I believe the a/c has now had the livery removed and is painted back into standard BA colours.

All the LHR-LBA flights will use the ex bmi mainline airbus's to start with. They are all currently based at terminal 1 due to non BA standard baggage holds. Even if firefly was still flying around you wouldn't see it at LBA.

Bloody weather! Stopped me getting a pic but just managed to catch glimpses through the clouds. Just about to watch it land on the webcam. Yaaay it's down. Welcome back BA! :yahoo:

I was at the cemetery along with half a dozen other 'die hards'. Bit windy and wet but flight landed OK, and early. Due to heavy overcast light levels were really low- almost like night, so phonots are not good!

Would be interested to know passenger figures for todays flights if anyoine has them.

Just spoke to the BA captain today on the first flight and he said that they will be doing the water cannon salute on the first flight tomorrow

Well all I can say is its going to be pretty dark if this morning is anything to go by.

Is anyone going up to see the water canon salute tommorow?

Will there still be a water cannon salute if it's freezing?

planespotter1333 I was on the first flight this morning and when we arrived into Heathrow I went into the flight deck to speak to the captain who was from Wetherby and he said they will be doing it tommorow. But he didnt say which one as it was dark this morning at that time.

MCSNOWDEN: See this morning first flight up to Leeds in the air for less then 40 minutes. Did they have time to serve you drinks on the way down.

It's the early one, BA1340 STA 0805.

The darkness is a concern but hopefully it can taxi in very slowly and the sun will just be coming up which could look very nice indeed.

Yes they came round with the drinks and complimentary bacon sandwiches a few minutes after takeoff. It was rushed though but there was no need as we had to wait in a holding pattern for 15 minutes to get in.

It needs to be rushed because I've done London to Manchester in 22 minutes before (wheels up to wheels down) - not long to serve anything up to 190 passengers with a drink and a snack! Everything needs to be secured for the holding pattern as quite often you can get a shortcut and come out early.

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
