Has Ryanair not released it’s LBA schedule for next year yet? If not, it does make me wonder why, as it surely will impact sales- especially with the surge of bookings on the back of travel restriction changes. I would have thought they would be all over it......

Yeah the lack of ALC is bizarre and a major gap in their network from LBA. It really is an odd one, the route cannot perform that poorly- surely?
Surely it's covered by Jet2? Maybe not enough demand for 2 airlines or Ryanair feels they can make more money with the aircraft flying elsewhere?

Maybe but we’ve had 3 airlines on the route in the past flying quite frequently there. If it was performing poorly then surely they would’ve cut back ages ago.

They fly there nearly everyday so it must be one of their better performing routes outta LBA in that sense.

Also bear in mind other airports. Liverpool has easyjet and Ryr doing ALC along with NCL with Jet2 and RYR. So Ryanair have competition on many other UK-Alicante routes which Ryanair still plan to operate.

That was the past and the pandemic has reduced demand considerably.

Of course but they still operate at other UK airports with competition with Jet2, Easyjet, TUI and are still operating there. Leeds is a big catchment area and demand is definitely there for more than just one airline. And things are starting to pick up so demand will be back there at some point I’m sure.

Yet it looks like they've cut the route at Leeds. They must have a reason and in general lack of demand or lack of profitability tends to be high on the list of why airlines cut routes.

Well I’m not too sure. Could be but I can’t see them cutting the ALC fully. If it was demand then surely they’d reduce the schedule. They fly ALC the most from LBA out of any destination so can’t see how that’s the case fully.

There has to be something else going on behind the scenes regarding the alicante route, when I've flown this route many times the aircraft is always 100percent full and the onboard sales never stop. Benidorm where most travel to is the largest holiday resort in europe and the 2nd largest in the world so will always be there, plus of course you have the thousands of ex pat properties in that area stretching from south of valencia right down to the murcia area which would be the catchment area for ALC airport.
No way would the ryanairs LBA to ALC route go from 5,6 flights a week to nada, there surely is another reason.
Always used this service that overall was good.

All checked in for my flight to Sydney from Manchester via Heathrow. Been waiting for this trip for nearly a year and now tomorrow I'll finally head to Australia and New Zealand!

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
