Yes, friends of mine who live local to LBA flew to Venice today.Ryanair have put a few new routes on sale from Venice to the U.K. shame Leeds ain’t one of them as Jet2 Cut Marco Polo and also Ryanair cut Treviso. Would be good to see Venice served again.
I flew to Venice from Leeds a few years back and i recall it being a busy flight in both directions. Hopefully one day an airline will bring it backYes, friends of mine who live local to LBA flew to Venice today.
From MAN.
On an evening they quite often "self position" without help from radar and usually aim for a 5 mile final. Is it my imagination or do Ryanair pilots flying into LBA often do shorter final approaches than other airlines? As an example last night’s FR2447 flight from Malaga which flew directly over me in Batley only lined up with the runway over Kirkstall at around 1700 feet.
Thanks for the info.On an evening they quite often "self position" without help from radar and usually aim for a 5 mile final.
Tech aircraft earlier in the morning led to it.Ryanair breakdown truck Learjet M-ABJA took off from LBA around 10 minutes ago and it can’t be coincidence that the Ryanair flight to Malaga FR2446 operated by 738 EI-DHE has just left LBA over eight hours late.
Let's not forget though that as far as the Eastern European routes are concerned, the LBA catchment area has just grown substantially. Pax from South Yorkshire and beyond will now be looking at LBA options rather than mainly DSA/Wizz. So there's a bigger market and it's now a straight fight between Ryanair and Wizz. There's enough pax out there for both to operate with existing loads. The issue is, will one airline encroach on the other and pinch pax? Fares and timings will be critical.Appears they have still not reacted to Wizz (In a reduction or increased flying) I'm sure they will be watching carefully though.
