@Jerry you are so correct. Without MAX problems i would say its more likely then with them. I just hope we do get a 4 aircraft base. It seem's to have got very stagnant from Ryanair. Or maybe the returns they have are very good and they are very happy with the LBA base as it is.

I would love to see more Ryanair routes as I would love to use them! But Brexit has just created so much uncertainty in the industry. I would love to see Valencia, Porto, Lisbon, Madrid and some Italian routes as Jet2 charge so much for a average flight!

Ryanairs figures for the year to 31st March out today. More passengers, less revenue per seat, extra pilot costs etc reduced profits from 1.45Bn Euros to 1.02BN.
The figures show 406 new routes started in the year and 9 new bases launched, however, they dont detail the bases closed or the routes closed, although for the current year it has reduced capicity by 1 million passengers.
MOL still feel the industry in Europe has over capicity even with the closure of all the airlines that happened in the last year, he highlights today Norwegian and Thomas Cook as two airlines that he sees failing, but more seats need to be taken out the system.
The news credit card companies are holding TC revenue to settle potential section 75 claims, is very bad news.

I'm hoping that Ryanair might fill void left at Liverpool when easyjet decided to move Lisbon route to MAN. Was a really popular service from LPL so be good to have that sorted out.

Strangely Ryaniar's most expensive routes out of LBA are Vilinus and Riga both averaging £100 one way! Very surprising as most routes like that normally have very low prices. Had a look on the seat map and most seats seem to be taken. Would be great if Ryanair could offer more Eastern European flights if they are so popular, would 100% increase competition with Wizz from DSA and LPL and all competition is good competition.

I've just booked my first Ryanair flight and it's from Leeds! Flying to Dublin with them in July on my way home after visiting my sister. Looking forward to flying from a new airport. So expect a trip report about the flight eventually!

Ryanair have added more end of season flights from Leeds/Bradford this time on to Gerona making it 17 extras in total

Ryanair is setting up a new airline
Ryanair is set to launch a new airline in Malta, reveals The Irish Times. The carrier is believed to be in advanced talks with the government in Malta over the launch of an airline called Malta Air. The deal, expected to be announced soon, would see Malta Air initially operate with six aircraft before expanding to 12. Ryanair currently operates six aircraft in Malta under its own brand and was previously said to have shown interest in taking over the national flag carrier, Air Malta.

Now confirmed that Ryanair are starting up a new Maltese AOC based airline called Malta Air which will operate up to 10 Boeing 737-800s by next summer.

And here's the airlines new livery.

Will this replace Air Malta or join in. I can't see them both lasting the course of time and probably at the loss of Air Malta if that's the case, sadly.

Air Malta sadly have been struggling for quite a while and although they have received government backing in the past EU rules are preventing further aid which is probably behind the Maltese government backing the Ryanair move with the government holding a "golden share" meaning the government has ulitimate control over major decisions in the new set up.

Air Malta is and remains a separate business.

It's a clever move as now Malta has its own legacy airline and it's own low cost airline and if one goes bust it won't drag down the other with it because they are owned separately.

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
