Will this replace Air Malta or join in. I can't see them both lasting the course of time and probably at the loss of Air Malta if that's the case, sadly.

This new airline Malta Air thats being set up by Ryanair has nothing to do with Air Malta. The main priority for Ryanair is to get the said aircraft off the Irish AOC , This is because many of the European based Ryanair pilots are being double taxed to fly Irish (EI) registered aircraft.

Air Malta will continue to operate on its own routes and aircraft as its has its own niche in the market it serves, It will also continue to receive support form the local Maltese Government.

Finally flew Ryanair today and it was also my first flight from Leeds. Overall it was a good experience. Leeds is smaller than I thought it would be and the outlets by the gates don't seem to be advertised. Ryanair were pretty good. The flight was late arriving and they queued everyone up for the flight on the ramp right by the aircraft. The flight was more comfortable than expected. Definitely more legroom than Vueling or Iberia Express. I'll definitely fly with them again!

Don't abuse their rules, Jerry, and they are as good as the rest of them. Youngish fleet and pretty good timekeeping record. I am flying with them on Monday to FAO from LBA.
Like Jerry, I'm a latecomer to Ryanair. I only flew with them for the first time last year. My wife had read and heard so much about their customer relations when passengers encountered problems that she simply refused to fly with them. It was nothing to do with perceived safety issues or comfort - she accepted that Ryanair is as good as anyone when it comes to flying safely.

Anyway, I eventually persuaded her to give them a go and, although the flights were only short to/from Dublin outings, there was absolutely nothing with which to find fault. One of their handling agents at DUB went out of his way to be helpful when we had a query before boarding the return flight.

They are no longer persona non grata with Mrs TLY, I'm delighted to say.

Yep they were pretty good. Hopefully I'll get to fly with them from Cardiff one day!

One wonders whether the "rebrand" will be undermined if all the media outlets have cottoned onto it...surely the idea was to cover up the fact that the new aircraft is a MAX?

Frankly a stupid idea..It sends the message out that the travelling public are really to stupid to notice or care...Not so these days
Its just a reflection of the travelling public really not knowing the aircraft types they travel on. The bulk don't.

Looks like Ryanair are to cut some unprofitable routes and close some bases very shortly due to the on going Boeing 737-MAX issues and delayed deliveries.

Let's just hope LBA bases comes out unscathed.

“Daddy, what type of plane is it? It’s a Boeing 737 8200 son, thank goodness it’s not a Max!”
Whether the flying public will be this easily fooled time will tell.

I agree, both that usually the bulk of the public dont know one aircraft type from another but on this issue `Mad Max` is a public talking point and this is one type the majority do know about and are not happy flying on...

I would not be surprised if we copped for it after last night's TV show. Didn't portray Ryanair in a very good light.

I take it Jet2 weren't in favour of the programme as their aircraft logos were pixellated out in some shots.

Do we need a new thread for discussion on the topic of the tv programme?

I hope so, then (as everything is so negative and I haven't even watched it yet), I can avoid reading it!

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
