Well I wonder how long you think it actually takes to offload anything up to 200 cases of various sizes out of the hold of an aircraft, put them on the trolley, drive them to the terminal and then load them on to the carousel? I have waited a lot longer than 25 minutes at virtually every airport I have travelled into. Last time I flew into Tenerife it was an hour!

Arriving back from SKG on our Jet2 733 last Friday night we were parked on one of the stands right next to the escalator and were straight up and through passport control and down into the dungeon and waited patiently for our bags.

Arriving after us was a Ryan flight from who knows where but imagine our suprise when their passengers started streaming into the baggage hall and were met by the almost immediate arrival of their bags. We were still waiting for ours at this stage. Our belt started a few minutes later but we did find it strange that the Ryan flight got their bags before us.

Last Monday we did the daft o clock Ryanair LBA to FUE ...arrived at security at 4am and were eagerly seized on by bored staff ..no one about.They were pleasant helpful and a good advert for the LBA...Due to extended hunger I did try one of Camden's gold plated bacon sarnies and it did the job...we were boarded well early, with the usual 5 star Swissport shambles, resulting in priority boarding doing so and a 10 minute wait for the rest..crew were pulling their hair out..Pushed almost to time though...

Crew were excellent, friendly, helpful and certainoly no more pushy for you to buy than Jet 2 are..We advanced purchased the new Ryanair hot breakfast..true not the best I've ever had but would certainly buy again on an early flight...10e you get sausages, bacon, small amounts of tomatoes, white pudding and hash browns...nice brown bread with butter and marmalade, orange juice and coffee..crew asked us what time we wanted to eat and pretty much everyone was accommodated...

Not much chatter from the flight deck, both sounded local to Leeds as well...but we were on EI EFC which had been swapped down route the day before from the Seville base and now at Dublin..no doubt a maintenance need..Was showing its age a bit though..

Overall a pleasant experience, LBA very busy but coped well and would recommend the base Ryanair operation from what we saw..oh yes and went on the airbridge at FUE...marvelode

The minute you introduce measures to speed up baggage handlers you're asking for trouble. You can't handle baggage properly if you have to speed up the process of offloading up to 200 bags weighing up to 32kg each.

This is the problem when passengers complain about how long they have to wait for bags. Airports introduce a first and last bag time on their computers. Airline managers then demand the process is speeded up. Bags then get damaged and broken. It's a vicious circle.

I would think too that the baggage handlers themselves would get damaged and broken. It is a very physical job and no matter how fit they are, it must be hard to keep up the pace all the way through a shift. As long as my case arrives in one piece, I don't mind waiting a reasonable amount of time. One exception would be when I first flew into Tenerife South, landing around 0030. The bags arrived initially on the carousel at 0115, but then the carousel stopped and we were told that it was the baggage handlers break by the rep. The carousel started up again at 0130 and our bags finally turned up at 0145.

That's interesting @White Heather. Although unlikely, it probably isn't out of the question if Tenerife airport was thin on the ground with not enough baggage handlers. They'd have to have a break at some point if there wasn't a gap in flights.

Okay Ryanair have again updated the summer 2019 scheduled and the last reaming slot on Saturday has been filled with an extra flight to Faro which increases the service from 5x to 6x weekly. The is now 85x weekly rotations on sale.

I've only just noticed for that Ryanair have added in a 2nd Alicante-Leeds rotation starting today and operates for next 3 Fridays only as follows.

Normal using LBA based aircraft
FR9079 = ETD 09:30 / FR9078 = ETA 15:50
Extra using ALC based aircraft
FR9105 = ETA 10:55 / FR9106 = ETD 11:20

The maybe others, eg to Palma & Malaga but I'll have to check and look around later in day.

Ryanair seem to be uploading more flights for summer 2019, So far the showing 85+ Weekly rotations. The is 1 spare slot where another rotation could be added to the Leeds based aircraft on a Saturday morning.

I guess to start with the main thing is that we still have Jet2 serving the Leeds/Bradford - Venice Marco Polo route 2x weekly (MON & FRI) next summer 2019 season using Boeing 737-300 aircraft.
Maybe they might try add a 3rd weekly rotation or upgage the existing flights to the larger Boeing 737-800..

Treviso was one of the Ryan airports that was somehwere near where they were advertising they were going so it comes as no surprise to me that they have eventually dropped it. What is surprising is that it lasted so long as anyone wanting to go to Venice would use Marco Polo unless the lure of a cheap flight to Treviso proved too strong for them.

Complete nonsense in my humble opinion. With regard to Jet2, they score 8.5 for on time performance, therefore their claims for delays etc. must be relatively low compared to some of the others. They score very low for dealing with those claims - which admittedly isn't good but it is principally that score that drags them into this list. Clearly in allocating that score, these people haven't taken account of the fact that in terms of numbers of claims, Jet2 are clearly one of the lower scoring airlines. I agree therefore that the entire process is very unfair and I would imagine that applies to some of the other airlines in the list too. Seems odd to see Jet2 here considering how many awards they have won over the last 10 years!!

Seems to be a social media whinge regarding how quickly claims get processed as well as the usual general whinges you see about every airline, every day on so called social media (which imo is rotting the fabric of society)..Best ignored..With regard to Ryanair, I recently had to change travel plans following the death of a very close relative. I submitted the claim for the unused leg and within 24hrs they responded with some kind condolences and a full refund. That`s what I call `always getting better`...Oh yes and flights were on time with cabin crew as good as Jet2`s

I generally ignore this sort of 'survey'. People like to whinge but rarely praise. Skytrax is a typical example where the moaners dominate completely. One person once gave an airport 1/10 - they said it would have been 0 if it had been possibe to award that - merely because there was no water fountain in the terminal.

It's the age-old story about life: if you have a good experience you might tell someone; if you have a bad experience you will tell everybody.
